Owning all three games but not having the first two playable in 3 because of the complexity of it all, the free upgrade is very welcome news. Will be nice to go back and replay the earlier games' levels.

New Freelancer info is short but really does make it seem like this could have been an entirely new game if they weren't using what's already been made for World of Assassination. Performing recon, doing the investigative side of putting a contract together, then executing it. No cinematic deaths, no following a mission marker, everything is down to what you as a player do.

Should be very fun to get into when it arrives later this month.

This might get me back in. I never got in to H3 properly after hitting 1 and 2 really hard when the trilogy arrived on Game Pass.

Has anybody tried the new mode? I have read some great things.
It seems that this mode might give me the desire to keep replaying levels, which, outside a select few, is something I have struggled with (making your own fun in a sandbox environment always feels like a slightly pointless and unrewarding endeavour to me - I need progression).

I haven't tried the new mode yet although I have been playing the game a lot again this week. Just doing a straight run through the campaign missions and I'm still finding new stuff after several hundred hours of play time.

First time playing Hitman 3 on PC and it looks incredible. Need to try the VR mode at some point.

Freelancer's certainly worth it. The regular targets are pretty much the same as custom contracts, where random NPCs have been designated a target, but that's somewhat more difficult when relying solely on things you find around levels or what you've trusted yourself with bringing along. The showdowns are more tense, as these are specific targets placed within the world where you only have certain tells to work from. While all members of the group are highlighted in blue through instinct, too much action will have the entire lot fleeing, so if you've yet to have found the leader of the group, it becomes a mad dash to round them all up.

Each section of the contract becomes more difficult, with more places to go and more areas on high alert from the start. It's a great loop where failure has consequences, but you can rebuild what you've lost. And one thing I've learnt from my failures is that I absolutely hate the abandoned school area of Marrakesh.

It’s got me playing Hitman again. It’s good to be back.

Put this on for the first time in ages and started the hitman 2 DLC which I only recently purchased.

Soooo good :datass:

I've only done the new York one so far but it was brilliant. I just love how the solutions unfold and change as you move around the levels. I'm trying to do this, but now I've heard that, and now while doing that I've overheard this, and so on.

The Maldives level looks like it's going to be brilliant too (only watched the intro to it).

And I have all of hitman 3 yet to play, plus the different, modes I've not touched yet, AND freelancer :toot:

It really does feel like one of the few single player games you could play forever. You are always unlocking something new, and, more importantly, something that incentivises you to play again. The dark humour completes the package for me, making it welcoming and engaging.

I think it might be the best value game ever - and not just because it's on Game Pass. When it finally comes off the service (it's been on there a while now) I will pick it up as I cant imagine 12 months passing without the desire to replay a few of the stages.

Perfect summary, Kaz. The whole WoA package is comfortably one of my all time favourite games and would be an easy pick for a desert island list.

What do I need to do to get World of Assassination? Do I need to have a copy of every Hitman game?

They've simplified it to just needing to get World of Assassination. That's everything from all three games barring the second game's expansion pass locations (New York and The Maldives), which are now part of the Deluxe Expansion which also grants the two expansions of Hitman 3.

Just spent 4 hours this afternoon on the Dartmoor level. It was everything I hoped it would be.

This is so good.

DLC for 2 is done. I just love reallt taking my time with the levels on the first play, no rush with anything unless a situation develops.

Maldives: Got the woman target by accident as id loosened a trap door, was hiding from her and she came in to the bathroom and fell through it  Also got rid of the fitness split by blowing up his waverunner while he was on it..

I've done Dubai, Dartmoor and Berlin. All 3 were great in their own ways, and I can't wait to go back and play them in a totally different way.

Cheers.

As I only have Hitman 1 free from PS+.

Berlin was awesome. Did it back to back 3 times, and there is still so much to find and experience.

Dartmoor - Berlin is the the strongest sequence for me since Paris - Sapienza (if memory serves me correctly).

Got to the end of hitman 3 last night. Now to go through the trilogy again and do things completely differently.
