PostHitman 5 [Wishlist]

Just wondering what folks would like to see in the next Hitman game, seeing as it'll be the first proper "next gen" Hitman game.

The obvios improvement that we should see regards the AI. I personally think we should be seeing more than the usual guard has a basic routine of walking up and down every few seconds. Maybe we could see guards interact with others more, call another guard other from their position because the other guard needs to use the toilet or something, or myabe see them fall to sleep because nothing's happening on their shift. And speaking of shifts, how about we see guards taking over from one another as their shift has ended.

There should be alot more ways for 47 to distracts guards, like using their radios to alert them about a fake incident or maybe even bribing a guard, for example.

I'm not sure that the whole game should take this format, but how about a Frame City Killer style mission, where 47 really has to study his target's movements, whereabouts and even have the repsonsibility of planning his own espcape route.

I'd like to see more public places as the locations for missions as well. Some of Hitman's best missions are the ones that involve large members of the public.

I think it would be nice if 47 could sort of, explain why he's been found in a certain area. I don't think the guards or whatever should just shoot 47 on site, unless he's been caught performing an illegal activity

Too be honest, i could probably go on longer about the things i'd like to see in the next Hitman

Are you suggesting a Mass Effect style dialogue feature?

A persuasion mini game. If you cock up your voice cracks and you stutter or give yourself away somehow but nail it and they will eat out of your hand and you can feed them whatever bullshit excuse you want and walk on through!

The only thing I can think of is more realistic graphics. The cartoony style is fine but I'd love for just one Hitman game to go for realism. It'd be so gruesome.

Apart from that, I don't really have any wishes. Blood Money was perfect and I trust the devs to deliver another brilliant game in the series. Hitman is one of my most favourite ever game series.

Amazing games.

- Larger maps. Not sand box territory but bigger areas for you to scope out.
- MOAR 'interesting' weapons. (Does anyone remember the OPM promo shot of 47 about to throw a hair dryer into a bath containing his target? Well basically that kind of thing)
- Keep the weapon upgrade system from Blood Money, that was off the chain.

Hitman Contracts had some really great weapons. Remember silencing your pistol with a pillow over that sleeping bloke's face? Amazing!

Also, accidents have to make a comeback!

This, I loved the carnival level in BM (think it was called Murder of the Crows)...walking through the crowds, scoping out buildings where you could complete the assassination from & get away without being seen.

Loved it.

Yes! Pushing the target down a flight of stairs and then casually walking away like nothing happened is the height of video gaming cool for me.

Also the way 47 holsters and unholsters his Silver Ballers is amazing. They should just work on that little animation for the next game. Try and make it look even more bad ass 8-)

I loved Blood Money, even more so than Hitman 2, we need more character models for one, there was about 4 models used throughout the game! The ragdoll physics need some work done to it, and in all fairness it needs to be made so it is pretty impossible to finish a level by killing everyone!

I managed to complete it on Pro/expert by mainly killing everyone just to get the G's!

More forms of accidental deaths would be nice, and the AI needs to be fixed in terms of alertness, I found in Blood Money, people were way too edgy, and in most cases before sussing out you were a bad guy you are getting shot! for example, you could be dressed up in an outfit that fits in climb over a small wall and everyone will shoot at you!

The story for 4 was nice, how it was all leading towards his downfall, and the vast array of missions was ace as well, a lot of variety.

What was this about? I remember being disappointed that they changed the Opera level completely, but I suppose it just didn't work right with the engine they were using, which is a real shame.

I don't want an open world style game as the Hitman games are puzzles games, not, ummm..., action-stealth games. I can't help but think that an open world style setup for it would be to the game's overall detriment, but bigger levels on the scale of the Mardi Gras level would be most welcome. The Hitman games always have a nice varied set of locations so I don't think I'll be dissapointed with the next one. ALTHOUGH, if IO Interactive is listening then I would like it if the Hitman 2 style of some connected levels was to return, but with things in one level actually effecting the other. Depending on the method you used to carry out the first mission, it would mix up the second mission slightly as a result, or something along those lines.

A huge increase in the "accidental" deaths mechanic and making 47 a bit more mobile would pretty much suit me down to the ground. I could probably play a Hitman game in the same style as Blood Money forever, as it's always a new puzzle and in that sense the gameplay doesn't get old (to me), so anything will be a nice improvement. Upgrading the physics engines to use Euphoria instead of Havok would be nice, as it's bound to create some great and hilarious situations.

If people want to play the game that way (the wrong way) then let them. The SA way is always there, and making the game impossible to play as a "shooter" will only put off people, not make them play it in a way they don't want.

Ahh, the Hitman series has never had killable kids (which I assume the level would have had to have), so I can see why it was dropped.

I don't remember it at all though! I thought I had followed the Blood Money announcements too, but obviously I didn't follow them well enough.

More context-sensitive killings, better graphics/physics and DLC missions are all I'll need. :D

Perhaps a way of framing others for a kill, you can walk away scot-free while some poor sod is gunned down.

Did anyone else find the pervert security guard in the suburban level of Blood Money? The one that kept sniffing the target's daughter's pant drawer? And you could lace the pants with chloroform to knock him out.

Also, dressing as the vicar and marrying the couple. Then pulling out a gun and shooting the groom as all the hillbillies fire their rifles in celebration.

Amazing, amazing scenes. :D

Remember the japanese levels in Hitman 2 where you cut the poisonous part of the fish for the target to eat? And then you slip a tracking device into his food too so you can follow his dead body to his father, the main target?

And remember creeping up to that guy with an axe, in the basement of that big company. Then on the next level, killing his brother in the jacuzzi.

While he was on the balcony I would throw a kitchen knife at the back of his head and he would fall over it

Kitchen knife = Best weapon ever! The way 47 holds it behind him when you're following someone is immense.

I love Hitman, but it's susceptible to a few flaws.

My main gripe is that the game is essentially a memory test. You have to fail the first few attempts to find out what guard is going to be in what position at what time. This really ruins the immersion for me, as a "real" hitman couldn't do this, and he wouldn't know who's going to be exactly where and when. I'm not sure of a decent fix for this, but then I'm not making the game.

Yeah alot of the time, it just seemed like the AI was just waiting for the tiniest excuse to start shooting at you. Okay he may be big and bold(and have a tattoo on the back of his head) but it would be nice if level's could start off with the AI treating 47 like he's just another civilian - i didn't like the way everyone would stop and stare.

I think someone mentioned about more unique ways of killing target(like in Contracts), here's another example of one, from some artwork for Blood Money.

That's the picture I was trying to describe! Not a hair dryer it was a toaster! (wtf?lol)

I quite liked the melee combat on Blood Money. Where you can punch someone in the face and hear their nose crack.

I started Blood Money on Professional, and managed to finish quite a few of the levels with a Silent Assassion rating first time. 8-)

I suppose it always be an inherent flaw in the game's mechanics, as the only real fix is making the game too predictable and easy, which ruins all the challenge of it. Although that seems harsh, as it is very, very possible to complete missions the first time and it only becomes a memory game if you fail again and again, which is the same of almost every game.
