In truth, The Hobbit would probably be best off as two films instead of being bloated to three films.

Smaug is probably the only thing I liked about the Hobbit trilogy, and that ends as soon as he copped it during the opening sequence of the final film. The battles of the five armies became too dull as it went on too long.

I would be happy not to see the Hobbit films again, while LOTR trilogy would get watched again and again.

Pacific Rim is terrible, but it's not as terrible as Michael Bay's Transformers series.

The Riddles in the Dark scene is the highlight of the whole trilogy. It's as good as anything in the Lord of the Rings trilogy too

Exactly this. It wasn't really meant to be anything other than that.

Loved it.

Did you write another 13 words on purpose?

I struggle to think of any recent movies that are as bad as Transformers. PR isn't a great movie, but it entertained me far more than Transformers ever did.

Whereas Pacific Rim actually tries to do a decent female character :(

But she doesn't bend over a car bonnet seductively.

You mean the girl with the depth of a puddle whose first scene is spent fawning over the hot male lead?

I agree with this.

I actually liked the first Hobbit movie. It had a lot of issues, but I felt they could improve on it and make something really good. I thought Freeman was excellent in it.

Then we got those pieces of gooseberry fool after it. Second movie was strawberry floating cringeworthy in places. I don't remember anything that happened in the third movie. Actually, Legola's disintegrating bridge moment. Utterly terrible scene. They really went overboard on the whole Legolas = super soldier aspect. I loved those bits in the original Trilogy (shield slide FTW).

First Hobbit is the best, easily. I keep meaning to find that fan cut that condenses the entire trilogy into a single film, as I'm sure that will be much better (I mean they get rid of Legolas almost entirely!)

Also I didn't think that people could exist who don't appreciate Pacific Rim for the magnificence that it is

If anyone's interested, there's another fan cut out now: Download it here

245 minutes, Full HD, 5.1 and all the rest of it. He's apparently put an interval into it at the point that Jackson was meant to be splitting the two films up originally (I think it's just after the barrel escape from the elves) Might give it a crack over the weekend.
