The LOTR movies are strawberry floating awesome, Return of the King might be the best movie ever created.

Are you strawberry floating joking? It is at best an average film. Even though there's too much stupid stuff in it, Fellowship is the only good film among the three in my opinion. And that is largely because while he cut too much (especially the escape to Bree is still too quick even without Bombadil, the Old Forest and the Barrow Downs), he didn't add that much stupid things on his own.

It is very telling that the weakest points of all three movies is where he adds something new. And then there's all the stupid comic relief shite, like fighting with frying pans, dwarf-tossing etc.

The only improvement over the book in all three films is Boromir, and that's largely because he simply gets more screen time while he is alive, as in the book he only gets to be a more rounded character after his death, when you learn about him from his brother, his father, and his subjects.

And the casting is awful in parts as well. Liv Tyler as Arwen?

And the fight scenes are too long, and he adds too many new ones as well.

And what in the name of all that is holy is that red vagina above Barad-Dur

You're a strawberry floating idiot.

That is how you do a redemption plot. In my opinion, Boromir totally redeems himself at the end of FotR.

They kinda did the same thing with The Hobbit, but I still felt that Thorin was a total asshole at the end.

I have just got back from watching the final Hobbit movie. As per all of the LoTR/Hobbit movies, I enjoyed it but there was a lot that annoyed the fanboy in me.

Two Towers=Return of the King > Fellowship of the Ring........................................................... > Desolation of Smaug>Battle of the Five Armies>An Unexpected Journey

I agree with most part, but I'd say Five armies was slightly better than Desolation. There were a few scenes that just dragged ( Bilbo and Smaug conversation being one of them)

Everything about Five Armies dragged (apart from the good bit where Smaug wasn't dead) :dread:

I liked the Bilbo/Smaug conversation, if anything it didn't go on long enough! Five Armies dragged when we had to watch Legolas SuperElf and the strawberry floating awful interracial Elf/Dwarf love story, sure they were both problems in Desolation, but they really irritated me in Five Armies

Not enough singing for you? ;)

I agree about Smaug, he should have been in it for longer.

That love triangle pissed me off, I do agree!

I loved the Sauraman/ Elrond/ Galadriel kicking ass scene! :datass:

Yep, I'd be content if I never saw them again yet I could rewatch LOTR films over and over

I'd be interested in watching the fan edit that's being worked on (they're cutting it down to a single four hour film), but yeah, Jackson really went full-Lucas. That said I'd only say Desolation of Smaug is as bad as any of the Star Wars prequels.

Four hours still seems like too much :dread:

Also Desolation of Smaug was the only bearable film (dat Smaug)

I agree with Skippy. Desolation of Smaug was Attack of the Clones level of terribleness.

I thought the first movie was decent enough and that it had some great moments. The dwarves singing, riddles in the dark, the escape from goblin town (Take up arms. Fight. FIGHT!!!!!), Thorin admitting he was wrong, all great scenes. Kinda disappointing how the sequels went.

I feel bad for Jackson. You can see him physically deteriorate in that video!

After seeing his concepts for Smaug I'm glad :shifty:

What was wrong with Pacific Rim? Was leagues ahead of Transformers in the big smashy robot stakes.

Pacific Rim is horrendous! It's worse than the Transformer movies, it's THAT BAD!
