This is such a 7/10 game. I've played about 12 hours and once you get past the incredible budget and attention to detail, it's exactly the kind of dull, bloated, map box-ticking, endless notification title BotW and Elden Ring make look extremely dated. Everything is fine, but nothing feels exceptional or authored in any way. Even the parts that are designed to evoke the movies remind you of how much more characterful the original sequences were.

I agree. It’s an enjoyable 7/10 but hasn’t hooked me. Parts look amazing and then I see the terrible facial animations that look ps3 era. The combat is actually surprisingly fun though, combos and dodging is very enjoyable.

I don't think the character generator helps with immersion either. Yes, you can literally put yourself in the game if you have the inclination but you end up with an emotionless automaton. Those cutscene conversations are so vanilla.

Got my first real bug after nearly 40 hours and that was when I entered a cave I started to look like I was swimming, luckily didn't need a game reset.

This game is so big! I am enjoying it still but it's not without its problems and annoyances. Those being,
- Repeated Dialogue
- Your character is very natural no matter what the situation
- Too many collectables which can be hard to locate, the map didn't need to be as big as it is.

Combat still remains fun and story is good enough to keep me slightly interested in what's going on.

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

Do you ever get a proper map of the castle in the game?

Not that I have seen. You do gest used to finding your way around though. It's the collectables that's difficult to clear.

I'm really enjoying it but like Rubix there's a couple of issues that is annoying me while playing;

= Dialogue doesn't feel natural in the cutscenes it all feels very split between the animation and the dialogue almost like you can tell it's a voiceover.
= Wish there was a way to change my FOV, the camera is very close over the shoulder would love to have been able to zoom out a little bit as it can be a bit clunky at times moving around.

One last main story quest and 9 more aide quests to complete everything. Enjoyed this game more the. i thought I would. Not perfect by any means but a good solid game that doesn’t get boring.

8/10

According to a posting by Senior Brand and Marketing Manager at Warner Bros. Games, Arien Darby, Hogwarts Legacy has exceeded sales expectations

Arien Darby has revealed on his LinkedIn profile that the controversial title has achieved "256 percent to plan sell-thru at launch and exceeded 12 million units in sales in the first two weeks earning $850M+,"

Hogwarts Legacy has also broken the all-time Twitch record for concurrent viewers for a single-player game with 1.3 million viewers.

Wonder if this game will have the legs of a GTA, hanging around the charts for years to come.

I doubt it. A lot of GTAs longevity comes from the online more than the single player I would think. With this being a purely single player game it's likely to be much more of a one and done kind of deal.

Might get a sales boost again when the HBO series starts out but I can't see much beyond that.

GTA had plenty of longevity before the online modes.

Online competitive Quidditch game. Different developer, so likely the mechanics of the sport will be a lot more focused than with Hogwarts Legacy, but it's an online-only game. Meaning the best single-player experience for the sport is still the Gamecube game released about 20 years ago. Which plenty of the replies of that tweet can't help but point out.

Quidditch isn’t even in Hogwarts Legacy. The headmaster at the start declares the season is cancelled because of an accident the previous year. Clearly the devs didn’t have time to make it.

Apparently the storyline is that they accidentally allowed a trans competitor to take part, then had to scrap the whole thing when they found out.
