Homefront 2 The Revolution Trailer (PS4/Xbox One)

Wage guerrilla warfare and reclaim the streets of Philadelphia in "Homefront: The Revolution" -- a captivating new free roam FPS to be co-published by Crytek and Deep Silver

Homefront The Revolution throws players into a near future dystopia where catastrophic events have brought the USA to its knees and enabled North Korean forces to impose a brutal military occupation. Trapped in this American nightmare, Philadelphia -- Birthplace of Independence -- has become a police state, where surveillance drones and armored patrols keep her once-proud citizens at heel, crushing any dissent with savage force.

To overcome their oppressors, players will have to engage in guerrilla warfare and use ambush, infiltration and hit and run tactics in thrilling un-scripted firefights. At every turn they'll find a sprawling city, in which recruiting fellow revolutionaries and building improvised homebrew weapons are just two of the keys to creating a powerful resistance force.

Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2015.

That sounds great.

I don't know why but I got something of a Freedom Fighters vibe from this. From what they said in the press release, the whole free roaming structure to the game sounds interesting - already makes it stand out a bit more compared to a lot of shooters on the market at the moment. The Cryengine is a pretty good looking engine but i'm guessing it's safe to say that was pre-rendered footage in that trailer.

The first one is pretty awful yeah, but the premise was always good.

First one wasn't ''utter gooseberry fool'' it was actually pretty decent let down by poor graphics. The Story line was pretty epic, never played online for it though.

The first one was utter gooseberry fool. This was actually announced a long time ago so I'm hoping they've had all that time to make a good game. Wish they would rebrand it though as anything that reminds me of the original abomination will put me off.

My steam account shows 3 hours, that's from start to finish with a bit of multiplayer too. It was trying to be super-edgy with this weird masochistic victim complex that was in Call of Duty from Modern Warfare up to and including Ghosts; portraying the US as being under attack and validating the freedom fighter/terrorist actions that in other games like Splinter Cell, Advanced Warfighter and the like you are fighting against.

Different developers means the quality of the last game is a non-issue

I'm interested in this predominantly on the basis that I used to live in Philadelphia.

Also, the first one was alright.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

The first one was an interesting (if unoriginal) premise let down by poor execution.
This one is sounding like it might shape out to be somewhat better though.

The first one did that whole thing about always leaving you short of ammo. And that works fine in say, the last of us, because theres different ways to tackle an encounter, but home front always forced you into firefights, so it didn't work.
