It Follows looks ace, sold alone by the fact it has a Disasterpiece soundtrack.

It's not good.

Saw it on a Screen unscreen preview last night.

Shame.

I've ordered The Babadook - used a voucher so got it for £4 on BluRay. Quite looking forward to it.

As latest horror movies go, it's one of the better ones.

I've no problem with Hostel/Saw/Human Centipede films, but when they start messing with someone's innards/brain on Holby City when I'm having my Tuesday night pizza it really puts me off.

interesting to see the range of reactions to different injuries - i can stand almost anything but head injuries - e.g. the head stomping in Drive just makes me feel sick to my stomach :(

So I watched Maniac last week, a remake of an 80's horror film. It's really quite brutal and at times hard to watch, throughout most of the film I kept asking myself "What the strawberry float am I watching?" but I just couldn't turn it off.

It's quite different from other horror films, due to most of it being from the killers (Elijah Wood) point of view. Quite a few first person shots which makes for some disturbing viewing. One of the strongest points of the film is the soundtrack, if your a fan of 80's synth (which is on quite a resurgence) you will no doubt agree.

Anyways if your looking for something a bit different, I'd recommend it. It's on Netflix too.

I watched this a few months ago and loved it,its quite different from the usual bunch of horror films and Elijah woods plays it so well and as you said the soundtrack is very good.

My Babadook bluray arrived. Might have to get onto it this weekend, though House of Cards might get in the way.

So I tried watching the new Evil Dead not long ago...couldn't do it. I made it as far as just before the hand chop scene and just couldn't go any further. I don't think I've ever felt that uncomfortable watching a film before in my life.

I watched the original Evil Dead a while ago, thought it was pretty average.

Listened to Kermode's thoughts on It Follows last night. He seems pretty enthused by it, but it just sounds lame to me. Very cliché and a bit dull. Would probably watch if it came on TV, but wouldn't go out of my way to see it from what I've heard.

It's got some rave reviews but i thought it was poor.

Not scary at all. One jump scare that only worked because she was in her underwear and i thought she was going to flash her growler.

Clown - 6.8/10

After eagerly anticipating it's release for what seems like a year, this kind of failed to live up to it's hype, which is kind of my own fault really. It was lacking a certain something, whether it focused to much on the main guy dealing with the transformation I dunno.

A pretty good film nonetheless, if anything it's just got me itching for the new It film even more now.

Full Babadook impressions.

I thought it was very well done. I have to say I didn't find it massively scary, though there's a chance I was quite drunk.

However, the fact it wasn't really supernatural, but instead was a huge metaphor for mental illness was done very, very well. I felt quite sorry for the little lad: clearly blamed by his mother for the death of the father. Not allowed to celebrate his birthday, not even allowed to discuss or talk about his dad.

It was very sad.

I havent seen the first one yet, have you and is it any good. I'm tempted to give them a go.

Also for all of you i watched a documentary call the Best Worst Movie yesterday. It was about a film called Troll 2 that came out in 1990 and it was one of those italian written and directed films that were all the rage in the 70's , 80's and 90's . Anyway the film was crap and bombed massively but seems that in the U.S mainly but also randomly around the world it has a bit of a cult following now. I downloaded Troll 2 and will be giving it a watch soon, watch out for a brief review
