I could really do with watching a decent horror movie. What's 'It Follows' like? Anyone seen it?

Or I'd like to start building a list of decent movies for Halloween, which is just around the corner already! (Where's this bloody year gone?!)

I bought It Follows yesterday, as it happens, because I was reading an interview with Tarantino in which he said it was one of his preferred recent films.

He said it was flawed, but the premise was good and that it was one of the best horror films of recent times. That was good enough for me. I also have Annabelle but have yet to watch it. I've been quite busy recently so not much time for films. Might put that right over the long weekend, though.

From the Tarantino Q&A:

What were your favorite movies this year?

I didn’t see anything this year. I’ve been making this movie for so long. I loved Kingsman. I really liked It Follows8

What did you like about it?

It was the best premise I’ve seen in a horror film in a long, long, long time. It’s one of those movies that’s so good you get mad at it for not being great.

How could it have been great?

He could have kept his mythology straight. He broke his mythology left, right, and center.

Full interview on this link. He is a bit of a bellend, but I find (most of) his films so entertaining.

Yeah It Follows is good, i dunno about it being full on scary but it is a bit creepy and weird. It kind of gives you a weird sense of nervousness. I watched another small budget horror film recently as well called Creep (not the london underground one) and even though it's another docu camera film it's really interesting . It's all based around this guy who hires a docu/film maker for one day for a 1000 dollars to basically just film him and then things get interesting.

Hmmm, thanks guys. I might have to get my hands on a copy.

I just stumbled onto this sucker on youtube. Trouble is it's one of those Sundance Festival type films, they can be a bit too arty-farty

The Witch

looks brill. I like stuff like that is a little different and artisitic at times. Have you ever seen Beyond the Black Rainbow, bloody brilliant film with some amazing art style and soundtrack but is just bonkers.

I'm not really in to the arty style horror, though give me a stylized haunted House movie (like Orphanage) then I can be happy! :P

That Tales of Halloween reminds me of a bit like Trick 'r Treat.

Couple of new trailers for you guys, though I will warn you the first one goes on for way too long, shows pretty much the entire film. I mean it looks like a rather predictable horror anyway but that's not the point!

Yea, I saw that Final Girls trailer on Reddit and I remember thinking 'is this going to spell out literally the entire plot?'.

Finally got around to watching Audition over the weekend. I enjoyed it, but did get pretty lost during the end, when I couldn't figure out what was real/hallucinatory/flashback/whatever. Pretty slow to start but definitely recommended watching.

Fuzzy, when's that out? Looks like the perfect Christmas movie (other than Die Hard!)
