Yes! Definitely. Excellent creeping sense of dread. I'd like to discuss it - quote me on Monday :D

The bit with the old woman at the High School or the bit where she's in the car and looks up to see that guy stood on the roof :dread: :dread: :dread:

Edit: I just remembered the tall guy scene.... :dread:

Has anyone tried Shudder? it's suppose to be a Horror Streaming Service like Netflix.

Think I'm gonna give it a try they have a 30 day free trial.

I watched Don't Knock Twice, starring Katee Sackhoff (she of Battlestar Galactica) it wasn't too bad, it ebbed and flowed. Not too dissimilar from most other horror films out there though. The final third kind of spoiled it as well. 5/10

Has anybody watched:

Get Out

Or Hush

If so are they any good? The reviews are pretty good for both.

I'm not a big fan of 'home invasion" type films, but Hush is definitely one of the better ones IMO.

That about the blind lady? I liked that one too.

There was one about an agoraphobic lady that was pretty good too, had a wee twist in it that I liked.

Watched it over the weekend. Here are my thoughts: t:last-film-watched-and-your-rating-part-two-directors-cut?f=7&p=4101602#p4101602

I do have some other comments, will put them here when I get a minute.

Glad you liked it, and I agree with your comments. For me, the sensation of frantically, and constantly, scanning the backdrop for the followers made for a really tense film, and really put me on edge.

Definitely one of the better horrors I've seen for a while, and I think it does well because you really find yourself trying to work out what you'd do in the same situation.

My other thoughts on the film are…

When they're in the cinema near the beginning and he sees the girl in the yellow dress…presumably - from his reaction - she's not walking towards him menacingly like 'it' does every other time in the film. Why not? Every other instance of it following them has it walking steadily towards them. Here though, he's neither panicked nor in a rush, and it's not obvious what it is (he only realises what it is when the girl he's with can't see the girl in the yellow dress), and then he decides to leave. You'd think he'd be used to recognising it/evading it though, as you get the impression it's been after him for a while.

I always thought it moved at the same speed, but when it's in the house, the girl in the kitchen is walking/staggering slowly, and then upstairs, the tall guy is moving fast as gooseberry fool towards the bedroom.

There's always at least one moment in a horror film when the main characters do something stupid, and in this it was when they'd set up the plan to electrocute it in the swimming pool. Clearly things don't quite go to plan, but when they shoot it and it's in the water, why do they just stand around and be like "uhh, is it dead?". Who cares, now's the perfect time to execute the plan!

These aren't major issues, but things that occurred to me after and kinda bothered me.

And it had another BSG actor in it, the guy who played Anders, Starbucks Cylon hubby.

I was the same at that pool scene. Characters failing to hurry the strawberry float up and act decisively really grinds my gears. It was a low point in what was otherwise a really atmospheric film, I felt.
