I don't think anyone seriously considers Dead Rising "scary". But it does sort of fit the general theme of "Halloween gaming"... and bonus, it's one of the few franchises this side of Left 4 Dead you can actually play with another player.

Sweet jeebus, they need to base enemies around Watson. That would be outright terrifying.

I've gone for Amnesia, Penumbra and Scratches in the Steam sale for some weekend scares.

I'll probably manage 5 mins on each before switching them off, big girl's blouse that I am.

Left 4 Dead 1 is currently a waste of money, as Valve has stated the maps shall be ported to Left 4 Dead 2. Buy Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead 2.

No way. Left 4 Dead 1 > 2. The game engine and movement is less consolised, the AI is different (imo better, you're not constantly under attack by the strawberry floating AI director, and you don't have to keep pushing forward, you can play at your own pace).

strawberry float l4d2 (I still love it, but 1 is better).

It's a horror theme based game, hence why it made the list.

What time do folks usually start their Halloween gaming sessions, what with it getting dark even earlier now :shifty:

I think I'm going to go for Alan Wake, Condemned and.Manhunt tonight. Should be good with my surround sound speakers and the fact I live alone at uni  :shifty:

Yeah, it's a completely different experience to Amnesia though.

Amnesia is a horror puzzler, and so is Penumbra, but they differ a lot. They're both great, but Penumbra edges it for me with the story telling, the notes, the tidbits of information and the horrendous feeling of desperation. Penumbra is a dream horror game that tells the story of some guy travelling to figure out his old mans dark secrets, it's soooo good.

I want to go for some horror tonight, but I can't decide whether to go for Amnesia or Dead Space 2.

Dead Space is third person doom.

Amnesia will have you shitting your pants.

But on the other hand:

Dead Space cost a lot of money.

Amnesia cost nothing.

 Please do. Anyone in that channel has to have auto-transmit on so as not to miss a scream.
