Could have been my MotioninJoy settings but when I first started the game the aiming was bound to the PS3 controller's Sixaxis orientation sensor and I actually tried playing like that for a bit thinking it was intentional

Definitely agree that the focus is more on guns this time around.

I got quite into it, completed it basically in one sitting. I do agree that the story probably jumps around a bit too much, and some of the plot threads don't really seem to lead anywhere (particularly the Pig guy's plot). There seemed to be a greater variety of environments and enemies, even if functionally they were all the same.

I do absolutely adore the whole VHS video-nasty vibe, with the pause menu and time transitions fitting into that. It's really well presented in general.

I think the first Hotline Miami was excellent in being a game not just with a lot of violence in it, but a game which had violence as a central story theme. This one is a little less tightly written in that regard.

Also, that last level. Loved that.

You wait till you see that bit on hard mode. Jesus Christ, it took me like an hour to do.

I had another go yesterday for 20 minutes but still couldn't manage to do it, any tips?

Can you do that on the PC cause I finished the game without finding it.

Well, remember that you only need to cap the big guys once, and they'll bleed out after a while. Try and get them from a distance, so that they die before they reach you.

Also, doors are really handy for blocking incoming bullets and the like. Other than that, just try and be quick!

Also try and lure enemies out in a controlled manner so you don't have to deal with too many at once.

Getting kind of frustrated with the game now, levels keep being wide open spaces that I can't see across but enemies can shoot me along.

Currently in the subway level so I can't even use a gun myself, bloody annoying to be constantly baiting.

If it's the room I think it is and you start on the bottom right, then bait the enemy out that's in the room right next to you, kill him and take his silenced pistol. Kill the guy in the opposite room then pick off as much of the patrolling, non fat enemies as you can. If you still have ammo left in the silenced pistol then use that to kill the fat guys, just one or too shots each and they'll bleed out but make sure you have enough room to run as they'll chase you. It should be pretty simple to kill the rest after that.

If you beet down and execute to enemies then the guy takes his jacket off and you can use weapons after that. You should be able to bait out and execute the first two enemies you see.

Mark the bear is definitely the worst character.

This game isn't as good as the original. 100% definitely.

His special skill is almost pointless, it's only properly usable on one or two levels. The zebra's dive is annoying because you just end up doing that instead of ground executions. The swan duo are fun to play as but the one with the gun is far too glitchy. That the tiger is the only one that's really fun to play as.

The tiger mask bloke is the best, I agree.

Shame the enemies being armed with guns and more open space levels made it less enjoyable. It forces you to rely on guns most of the game.

The bears special skill seems more a case of them adding something that would look cool rather than actually have any use. I think the zebras roll is a good mechanic but I agree it really should have been mapped to a different button than the executions.

Finally finished that level I was stuck on, I was gutted when I found out the the third floor wasn't even the end of the level but the fourth floor wasn't too difficult.

Agree on the points being mentioned, this is a good game but definitely not as good as the original. The controls just aren't as tight and the bigger levels with enemies way off screen are infuriating.

Can't fault the soundtrack and visual design of the game.

Sounds like it would have made the game a lot easier.

Gone back to Hotline Miami 1 on PS4 and good god the controls :dread: Anyone that forces you to use R1 instead of R2 to shoot shoot be shot themselves.
