How do your friends and family react to you playing games?

Anything to do with games at all.

I live in a house share with, currently, six other guys. Six of us own a PS4 and the other guy has an Xbone

It's the most ridiculous product placement in a game I've ever seen  I only played it briefly a few years ago through emulation (it's ridic hard), but back when I was young I remember getting two Zool books and I absolutely loved them. I remember exactly how the book cover stated Zool was "Cooler than Mario, smarter than Sonic". It was right B)

I was pretty upfront about loving games with my missus from the start, I did it in the way MHTL did, as in, I'm a big nerd etc. Again, I'm not ashamed of it at all. Most of my mates don't play games and the one that does lives in Wicklow and he has TERRIBLE broadband, unfortunately it means he doesn't play much now but has a really big interest in board games so we have some kind of similar ground.

Back to the missus, she is a keen reader so regularly come, 8 or 9pm she'll say, right I'm off to up to read which leaves me free to play games for quite a lot of time during the week. My little one is 7 and has a bed time of 9 but she sits on couch behind me and watches me play games while she plays with her ipad. We are a very insular (not out going) family this way. In the summer we regularly went out but as soon as autumn comes around we watch movies and play on our various devices till mid February. As such I get more game time in winter and just found out new job is giving us 2 weeks off paid this xmas so I can't wait!

As an aside, I think Roblox is stunting my little girls ability to git gud at games, its all she plays and its HORRIBLY simplistic.

I've been gaming now for about 30years, I find the majority of people who deride it usually are soap watching mouth breathers with little to no life. Not that I'm calling all soup watchers that, hell my bro's and folks watch them all but cos my missus is american she can't get on with soaps at all so I'm lucky in that regard.

I was thinking more along the lines of what does he do when you have a gaming night? Sit alone in his room, tears streaming onto his controller as he plays Halo all on his lonesome?

Fortunately for him we don't play online together (I only did so a few times with an ex-housemate when we played R6S). It's all about the local multiplayer

I'm stuck here at work with a stinking cold and that cheered me right up. Cheers, mate.

This is why people have a terrible opinion of gamers. Somebody posts that their cousin was caught buggering a pigeon and the geeks ignore it and carry on talking about an ancient Chupa Chup lollipop game.

I guess it's just not that weird an idea to most gamers

Luckily for me my Mrs is just as much of a gamer as i am so we're either playing a game together, or both playing inseperate rooms so we get loads of gaming time in.

Most of my mates don't play games at all so I can't talk about anything with them. When I worked at mad catz it was great to have entire days filled with game chat. Now I come to work and all I hear is the odd scrote taking about fifa and cod.
