Virgin upgrade. Speedtest taken wireless on a mac. Would get the same results on my ipad too, so I'd highly recommend the Asus AC66-U.

Its alright, I would want slightly better upload but it isn't bad. I would look at Sky though as you can probably work a pretty good deal for TV, Phone and Interwebs and save a few quid.

It's a 160mb connection apparently, make of that what you will. I think I'm locked into a contract I assume, so I can't switch.

What I like is that it's internet only. I don't want a phone line - I would never use the phone - and I'm happy with Freeview tele.

Fair enough then, if you are locked in there isn't much you can do and yeah Virgin are good because there is no line rental, but I would say take a look if you can at others they have some good deals and mostly you only pay line rental and the phone but is free on top of the that and the interweb bit won't come to that much so may be saving something.

Do you happen to know what speed of internet connection would suffice for decent Netflix streaming without hiccups and drops? Netflix is the main thing I use my home internet for and it's kind of important to me, being recently single etc.

If you're on Virgin (cable, not DSL) and are on the 160mb package, you should get pretty much that spot on. Maybe down to around 150mbps. I'm on the same one and often get nearly 170.

Are you using the Superhub supplied by Virgin?

EDIT: Just a thought, are you using WiFi?

Not even gunna attempt an image upload on this but my parents are currently rocking 2.86mbps upload and 1.18mbps download speed. Until Wednesday when the fibre optic gets installed as I literally cannot deal wit this gooseberry fool when I visit.
