Let's just hope your baby doesn't somehow crash your car into your house. Baby's are driving these days I've heard.

That's not a growth wrote:Two years ago I had a decent social life but just came out of a bad relationship. I was unhappy in my job, was rejected for a transfer and also for applications elsewhere, was struggling to fit in studying in my spare time due to lack of money and terrible hours, and had to borrow money off my Dad after I had to admit to him the reason I didn't buy his wife a Christmas present was because I had so little money from stretching myself too thin. A month later I was fired from my job, and over the next few months my money troubles got much worse due to my housing benefit taking almost 2 months to start, and my job seekers only lasting about a month before they cut me off. I wasn't able to find a job, got into several grand worth of dept, and eventually had to tell my family since I ran out of possessions to sell and moved back in my with mother for the first time in almost a decade.

I'm now out of debt, even saved a bit of money, just had a "promotion" at work, and in the best shape of my life. My social life is a little lacking, since most of my friends here are married or have kids and concentrate on that part of their lives, and it's just generally more difficult to spontaneously socialise in a town than a city. I'm single, and live at my mum's still. I'm not sure how I'm going to move out any time soon, since she can't afford to live here alone. I'm still not sure if I'll have to fight to get more pay for this new job due to it being a very unstructured way they've gone about things. I've been helping my Dad a bit with his business in my spare time, but it's not really lead to anything yet. I had a date a couple of weeks ago, but she didn't want a second. I decided to give tinder and a few things a go recently and could only get one woman to have a conversation with me so gave up. I feel like I need to do something like a course, to try and do something that could potentially lead to a job I would enjoy, and be passionate about and actually earn more than minimum wage for, but I don't have enough free time or space at the moment. I feel very unimpressive and uninteresting at the moment, still finding my feet from a few years ago. I feel lonely a lot.

5/10

That doesn't sound the best, hope things start picking up for you soon man.

10/10.

Currently in the Philippines and have nearly 5 more months travelling the world with my girlfriend. Im not sure how I'm going to cope with returning to work in August really.

I've also cut back on unhealthy habits recently that has had a pretty big impact on my state of mind and mood.

I'm not very happy at the moment, feel like I'm wasting my life. I have a child and wife who I love dearly but I feel like I can't provide better for them. I want more children but we don't seem to be able to have anymore, specialists don't know why. All my siblings are doing better than me, my close mates too, although I hardly see them as I've pretty much successfully cut myself off from them. To top it all off I found a dead body in the river the other day at work. It took over a day for anyone to ask if I was alright about it. It didn't bother me until an inspector actually asked me that question, naturally I said I was fine because I genuinely thought I was. I probably shouldn't be posting this in here as this seems more like a happy thread. I grew up with a lot of money thinking that life would be easy and I would just work for my dad then a few of his businesses went tits up just when I was leaving school, my older brother still works for my dad which makes me jealous. My dads doing better now but it doesn't really benefit me a lot. I think the future will be a lot better financially but selfishly I won't the benefits now. My sister is doing really well for herself which although I'm proud of her makes me jealous as we had the same opportunities but she had aspirations and went for it.

That was a bit of a ramble. I've just tried to delete this a few times but I'm going to make myself post it. Don't worry this isn't some rambling suicide note, that's never crossed my mind. Feel a bit better for writing all this though.

ROTS - no worries, a lot of disappointment in life is through comparing yourself with others, FOMO as it is known as these days.

Cheers mate. It's a bit of a mixed bag really. At least I'm not in a situation where things are completely out of my control and up gooseberry fool creek, but it does feel like the road to getting where i want to be is still a few years away which is a tad demotivating. Not the worst I've been, by a considerable margin, so there's that.

Wasn't intended to just be a happy thread at all, far more interesting with posts such as these too.

If you don't mind me asking, why does it bother you that you're not as financially well off as you could be? Do you actually need the extra money or would it just be a nice addition?

I'm at a stage where my salary could be going up roughly 6x from what it is now in the next couple of months but will require a complete upheaval that will probably make me far more miserable than I am just now and I do sometimes wonder if it'll be worth it. Although I'm properly on the poverty line now, I do still manage to get by so it does sometimes tempt me to just remain poor.

Probably much different with a kid and that like.

I don't really do 'happy', more just contentment. I'd say I'm about a 6 at the moment, and can't imagine being any higher on the scale than that. I have a good job, own my own place in a very nice part of the country, am financially secure, and spend my free time doing what I like. I'm content with that. I've no interest in relationships or having kids, and so really my goals are around being financially secure, staying healthy, spending my time travelling and indulging other hobbies, and seeing friends and family. My mum was diagnosed with cancer last year, which hit me for six, but she caught it early, and she's all-clear now. The whole situation of waiting, the treatment, not knowing, etc made my re-assess priorities and general outlook.

My 10 month old has been driving for a few months now and hasn't crashed at all so far and that's with all the vodka he's been drinking.

Yeah it's important that they can see over the steering wheel.

About 4. Nothing too dire to complain about but I am kind of stuck in rut that I can't seem to dig myself out of yet.

They're not able to reach the pedals though so you're gonna need to glue down the accelerator.

Switch cruise control on, can then adjust the speed from the stalks. Although reaching the steering wheel and stalks will also be an issue. Probably best if you just drive for them until they are 18.
