I was thinking the other day that the depression thread hasn't been posted in much lately, was curious as to whether that's due to laziness or if those people are feeling slightly better. And, in general, how would everyone on here rate their levels of happiness from 1-10?

Today I'm knackered and still on a comedown from weekend parties but was thinking that over the last six months I've probably been the happiest I can remember.

I think this is greatly aided by the fact my landlord disappeared after giving me the keys to a beautiful city centre apartment without any means of paying, meaning that I got six months of a flat to myself for nothing. That ended last week so I've been a bit more down - and completely unsure of where to go for work next - but still feel much better than I generally did in the past.

I think over the last half year I'd rate my level of happiness at a solid 8/10. What about you? Are you bored with your job/lifestyle or is it all good?

I'm pretty good. Middle of a week off, just got my hair done and got some good plans for my time away from work. I've been eating well, saving money for our holiday and despite Anungs depression were doing fabulously. Everything is falling into place with good certainty because we've worked hard for it. The next few years are looking good.

Also I'm getting a cat so that's awesome.

I am reasonably happy. I have a great wife, a wonderful kid and a family that I love.

Work is shitty, but I am not the sort of person that would enjoy any job. Meh, it pays the bills.

I'll give myself a solid 7/10 on the happy scale.

I hate my life a bit at the moment. My mum has lung cancer, I live in a flat where I'm paying out far more than I can afford, I have no money and no girlfriend (actually, that might be a good thing). It's mainly the cancer thing that's really bad, of course, the rest I can deal with by just hoping things get better.

Pretty good
Getting married next year and have been settled with my other half for years.
Work is generally good ( even though i drive into London most days) i generally work job and knock ( left the house at 6am home by 11:30am today)
Friends are always around and on the same level.
Mum hasn't been well in the last couple of years but has been getting better the last 6 months but i have a big family which helps out a lot.
And the weather is starting to warm up.

I've voted 5 because I can't think of the last time I was happy. I don't even know what I'd need to happen to move to a happy state. I do have 5 minute bursts from time to time where I'd say I was happy, but nothing sustainable. Looking at Blue Eyes post I have no justification to say I'm not happy, but I guess you can't just change how you feel because someone else is worse off.

Currently I would probably class my happiness at around 6/10, I might be horribly disabled, in poor health and will probably be single forever but I have a relatively easy life without any major commitments such as work or kids to look after so I guess its no so bad really.

Some days however I do get a bit depressed as I think about my future, there's a likelihood I'll end up living in a care home as I literally require help to do anything and the prospect of that truly terrifies me.

I'd say I am contented. Happy most of the time with the odd day of 'ARGH!!'

Fairly happy. I have a paid PhD studentship in a field I love that has real world importance, I have a long term relationship with a pretty spot on girl who just so happens to be a lot better looking than me, a good social life, and I'm physically fit and have lost a lot of weight.

If it wasn't for people close to me having an irritating habit of dying in 2015 and 2016, and finding out 10 months ago that I'm progressively losing my eyesight and will be likely blind for the latter stages of my life, I'd be a 9 or 10. The latter in particular can really spoil the day here and there.

Overall, 7.

I'd give myself a strong 8, with potential to hit a 9 if I can reduce some niggling debt. Great wife, great daughter, steady job. I just need to clear a couple of overdrafts from my uni days (£00s not £000s, thankfully) and I'll have enough disposable income to look at upgrading my archaic runaround.

Kinda just in the middle.

I'll be happier once I get this month over. Moved house and I can't get used to all the changes. And the money in my account seems to be evaporating rapidly.

Why the hell did you quote that post. Damnit.

In other news I'm not sure I can put a numerical value on how happy I am, but I feel ok right now. I'm a lot happier than I was this time last year. I know I lost my Nan and that hurt me a lot, but I'm living with my cat in my own flat, enjoying work and enjoying my spare time outside of work. I'm close to the family that matter and I'm not stuck living with my step mum any longer.

My hobbies are enjoyable, I love living on my own and I feel relaxed when I get home from work now. I'm not sure if I could ask for anything more.

I try to thank my lucky stars just how well I have it. Especially now that I'm starting a job that won't make me want to punch my own face on a daily basis.

Thinking back to how I felt in my late teens/early twenties and how much I strawberry floating hated life it's almost unbelievable how much things have turned around.
