I don't have a dish! I live in a new build which has fibre optics built into it and the Sky is connected to all that. I don't pretend to know how it all works but I have full functionality with regard to record, rewind, on demand, catch up etc.

I've just checked my box and I've got one HDMI cable connected to the telly, the power cable, and two white coaxial cables that disappear into the fibre optics box under the stairs.

Does that not mean you've got a giant communal sky dish on your roof but it's so high up and not at the edge of the roof that it's out of view?

Worth checking if you can get Hyperoptic broadband btw. 1,000mb download and upload. Yes please.

The 2 white cables will be connected to a dish...somewhere. In normal circumstances you'd be able to follow those cables around the property or wall to the dish but in this case it's all been neatly hidden.

Actually a communal dish sounds familiar. I remember asking what the fibre optics were connected to (as every house here is fitted with them) and something like being located somewhere on site that was the answer I was given. I'm going to have to dig that information out before I call Sky.

You will be connected to a communal dish.

I used to live in a flat that had a communal dish but each flat only had one connection to it. Which made Sky+ a bit useless, it would record but could only manage one programme at a time and couldn’t record another channel if you were watching something.

He may have said you need a new dish installed because Sky Q can't be fitted to a dish that is already being used for Sky+HD. The whole lot has to change (as in the front transponder attached to the dish). I don't know how many Sky Qs can be fitted though. In normal circumstances you have the main box with the Hard drive and so forth, and then smaller dumb boxes around the property. These multiroom boxes however can only stream at 1080p (the main box is 4K).

Probably won't stay with them but the service has been flawless, which after my previous place (no broadband for 7 months) is enough to make it well worth the premium imo.

I have exactly the same package, I pay £38

Me too.

I don't have the TV stuff though, almost everything I watch is streamed or 'acqired' and I don't watch sports.

I have the TV and the sports. Sacked off the sport though as it goes up in August.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.
