When Nintendo announced the Virtual Console it was always going to be a popular idea for gamers and for £7.50 it represents decent value for a Nintendo 64 game with crisper graphics. The opportunity to play some of yesteryears classics is also great imo.

How much have you guys spent on the VC so far, have you made use of the game or like me have you simply bought a lot of the games because of nostalgic/ collection reasons?

Not that much. Only about £30. For me, it's gone by the wayside due to the paucity of quality releases.

For me it has been a great opportunity to purchase games I missed out on, i was a megadrive kid so missed out on the delightful SNES, i only experience A Link to the Past recently, which is shocking and i appreciate the job nintendo have done with most of the conversions, super mario 64 is now sharper on my hdtv and still the best game ever.

The VC also gave me the opportunity to finally complete Zelda OOT because of a game save i downloaded, which was awesome.

Now that the Wii is a huge success i am unsurprised by their attitude towards the timing of releasing the big games like super mario kart, the 2 pilotwings, majoras mask and donkey kong 64!

Personally, i believe Nintendo will make a step forward and introduce a handheld console that allows the download of every nintendo back catalogue game known to man, which would be awesome imo.

I've been really disappointed with VC. I wanted the whole of the N64's library on there.

£7 on Lylat Wars. Not a lot else has interested me to be honest and there hasn't been a great deal of quality releases recently.

About £50 but no more as I don't want to update my firmware and the internal storage is full.

I've spent about 40 quid on it. I just had to have F-Zero and F-Zero X. After those, I spiralled out of control and have no points left pretty much.

Probably about £50.

I've regretted pretty much all of it

Quite a bit. I might try an work out an actual figure if I get bored.

I'd probably care more about the VC if:

a) I wasn't such a retro-hating 3D whore
b) Nintendo hadn't already uploaded the three games I wanted the most (Paper Mario, Super Metroid, Sin and Punishment).

I've maybe bought about 4 or 5 2000 point cards. Which is nothing compared to the dozens of Microsoft points cards I have bought. I've likely spent about £500 on those.

I think I've used 10,900 points. Isn't that around £80?

I've bought Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2 (USA), Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros 3, Mega Man 2, Mario 64 and Paper Mario.

Which equates to roughly 4700 points (or ~£35).

I do have a big list of stuff I want to get though, as I tend to only buy the games when I've got nothing else to play.

I'm not sure, I've bought.

Kirby's Adventure, Mario Bros - 1000 points.
F-Zero, Super Castlevania IV, Sim City - 2400 points.
F-Zero X, Yoshi's Story, Mario Kart 64 - 3000 points.

6400 points worth, however much that is.

Sorry for the ignorance but where do your games get stored when there is no hard drive? I dont have a Wii but was considering getting on mainly for the downloadable games.

I recently had to put my first game on the sd card, and you know what its not that inconvenient, if i want to play the game i just transfer another n64 game on to the sd card and then transfer the game i want to play back on to the wii's own internal flash memory!

That reminds me: I really should play Lost Winds, since I paid for it. :)

(I know, I know, it's WiiWare...)

Divide it by 133, if you spent £15 on every 2000 points that is, which means you have spent £48.12.
