Since the wireless 360 pad is £30, there is no way I'd buy a new one unless my current one broke.

It's not exactly perfect anyway as the left thumbstick is a bit loose and moves to the left slightly, but it's not enough to warrant a new pad.

I've only ever had to buy one replacement pad for me 360, and that was because my headset jack snapped inside the previous controller.

My only replacement was when the controller wouldn't work with a headset. Got a new one through warranty, and traded the bust one to Joer for a wired one to use on the PC.

I don't!

The only time I've ever replaced a controller was back in the N64 days when the analogue sticks were crap.

I have never in my life had to replace a pad as a result of breakages or related issues, however I did 'replace' my GCN pads for the Wavebird and never looked back. Does that count?

I usually never replace pads

Out of all the systems I've ever owned going way back to the NES the only pad I've ever replaced has been for the PS2 when the d-pad became faulty and made Pro Evo unplayable.

I like to take my pads apart and give them a good clean.

However, if I ever purchase a new controller or accessory, it usually switches place with the older piece of hardware.

Never had to, but my PS2 ones are borked now with the rustiness of a year and a half. The analogue buttons are wet (odd) and they move like a thirty year old lever.

Too much money!

I've only ever had to replace a Wiimote before that got smacked off a wall playing golf and it stopped working.

One of my 360 pads could probably do with replacing as the D-pad and a couple of buttons are starting to stick though I probably won't bother as only my mates use it.

I actually prefer my 360 pads without the little nubs on the analog sticks.

We should have a "dirtiest 360 pad" competiton :D

The one Joer gave me was rank, yellow mush in the crack all the way round, hair clogging the triggers, sticks encrusted with dirt from under fingernails.

I'm still on the original pads i got with my launch 360.
I have replaced both my launch PS3 60Gb pads, but that was to get the Dual Shock.

MY GC is still on the pad that came with it and the wavebird I bought about 3 months later.

I find if they go a bit dodgy you can clean them back to new, but I'll get a new one if that doesn't work. Start button went funny on my PS2 pad, so I went and got a new one, and the L1 broke within a month. strawberry floating irritating considering I'd had the other one since I bought the console, in 2002 or something.

My pads for last gen all broke at least once except for the xbox (although I replaced the original pad with a controller s). I guess they aren't really designed for the kind of usage enthusiasts like us put them through.

Wow no that's certainly too far for me. Eight pads? No. I can't justify that expense.

GC's controllers at least were fine for me even if they did start to get a little loose. I just get 3 or 4 controllers and use whichever one happens to be in the best condition, and always use that one when I have mates over so I have one looked-after controller.
