They always look awful, and they feel rubbish in the hand too.

Edit: Tell a lie, I once bought a Madcatz wireless ps2 control pad.
But that's because it was wireless. Never again though.

3rd party are god awful. We got a free one with the Ps3. I dont recall the name of the company, but its so bad...

The PS3 sticks are shite quality - I am now on my 5th and 6th pads!

All the pads I have had for this and last generation have seemed extremely robust and never seem to need replacement. As for replacing it when it gets grubby I have to question how much you get paid at work as its obviously way to much if you can splash out on a new pad when all it needs is a rub with a damp cloth.

I don't mean just a bit of sweaty build up, but with the 360 pads, the white ones seem to go a bit off colour after a while, which I don't like.

I suppose it is still a waste of money though...

I need to get some new 360 pads. I was having a bit of an idiot day and thought to give my controllers a good clean as they looked like I'd been smoking on them too much. But after the cleaning project one controller has a stiff A button and the other has a stick which goes slightly to the left all the time. My only good one squeaks everytime I lay down the gun fire. £30 quid though! I could buy some warm sake and a bowl of ramen in that cost!

Yep my first PS3 pad died due to the Sticks starting to go. I replaced it with a Dual Shock 3 and that has been going since launch and is fine. The original ones are pap.

I've never changed my launch 360 pads or my PS3 ones.

My 360 one's are fine but think the reason my PS3 one broke was overuse

I've broken two sixaxis pads since I got my PS3, both while playing PES 2008 online.

Fragile things can't take being thrown against the wall.

Has anyone else got a big pile of PS1, PS2, GC, N64, Xbox and PC pads clogging up their cupboards ? I've got four or five steering wheels and two or three arcade sticks gathering dust. Never mind the multitaps...

Damn you backwards incompatibility :x

I managed to break 2 Playstation 1 pads back in the day, however i've never (touch wood!) had a PS2 or PS3 pad go wrong yet!

Thanks to this topic I've noticed that my d-pad on one of my 360 controllers is ever so slightly squint. It will probably drive me mental and I'll end up going on a murder spree because of it. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

You won't be the first, and you won't be the last.
