We went there to just camp and watch from the site. Spent the whole day watching next to nothing fly, abandoned plans early Saturday and had to have the van pushed out of the camp site :fp: So muddy that we got properly stuck 4 times.

Imagine that without the jump and you're not far off

Went to KSW (Polish MMA). Had prime front row seats for all the violence, was absolutely incredible. The guys are properly superhuman.

Odd jobs in shed on Saturday, bird was working saturday night.
Made bird breakfast on Sunday morning after she finished. Saw mum in the afternoon in old peoples home. Chilled in the evening.

Not much done all in all. Lovely.

Pretty good weekend. Got destroyed twice at Scrabble and dined out with friends both days. Got some good gaming in both mornings as well so it was a success all round.

I did wonder why there was a rather rough looking camper leaving the site just as i was arriving. ;)

They did get to do quite a lot of the flying displays on saturday, as although the wind was even more horrific than Sprouty's recent output, there was only one significant monsoon.

My mum who takes care of my grandmother but with them both having significant care needs (my mum was disabled before her cancer and my granny has Alzheimer's and Parkinson's) so I'm going there at least every other weekend to chip away at an endless list of crap to fix around the house.
So Sunday spent about 9 hours resealing my mother's shower after a few other occasions scraping off multiple layers of failed silicone, limescale and general black grime. And some stick back plastic strip thing, which was of course never going to work and a terrible idea. Went there at 6pm thinking it will take me about 2 hours. Oh how wrong I was.

So many chemical, blades, scrapers and other implements. It's barely 70 x 70cm with a door that only opens about about 40cm, floor to ceiling, so that's an enclosed space on my toes and/or knees the entire time. Making it incredibly uncomfortable and painful to work in for someone that's 5' 11".

The tiles and door/frame were fitted so poorly in the past, the gaps are about 5 to 12mm, so that's a lot of sealant.

It's like new now, though I realised - after cleaning, scraping, cleaning, scraping again, masking, grouting and applying and tooling the sealant - what I got was an acrylic based "bathroom and kitchen sealant".

Acrylic is water soluble. An acrylic based "bathroom and kitchen sealant", that is water soluble.

I thought it was silicone like 90% of sealants. What the strawberry float man. That has got to be unfit for purpose.

Edit: Took the rest to the brain problems thread

Don't get me wrong, the things my partner did were to go wedding dress shopping with her mum and do a 5k run, so I was happy to be with the dog instead

We had some regrets when we got home that we were missing out, but it was the campsite disaster waiting for us on Sunday with everyone trying to leave that we clung to as the main reason for abandoning it.
