I have to admit, I used to be deadset against HS2 but over the years came round to it. Train infrastructure in general needs massive investment but it's something this country just doesn't seem to be good at.

I've been watching the progress update videos they do and some of the engineering in this is bloody amazing.
I know the costs have spiralled but the construction tech they're using is world class and in many cases breaking records for construction speed and efficiency.

It's a shame the overall PR has been so poor as the people actually building the thing seem to be doing a fantastic job and the viaducts are spectacular.

I also enjoy the progress videos for the new nuclear power station and the Themes Tideway Tunnel.

You should try living where I do! Bloody HS2 roadworks everywhere! Single track A roads, dual carriageways, motorways. Everything affected!

Just had the main A road closed by us for the whole last week!
