Dipped into this very quickly yesterday. I like it a lot. I might need to read a guide, at least to begin with, as there was some stuff going on that, for want of a better explanation, my brain couldn't decode :lol:

Very near start, you wake up in the friendly town. There's a table, and when you interact, it looks like a map (or something) appears. I couldn't make head nor tail of it, TBH.

However, I love the way it looks, sounds and plays. Will give this some proper time over the weekend.

I know what you mean about it being a little difficult to decipher in general, but just pick a side to adventure through and it'll all fall into place.

Re the touchpad map: I think there's a world view scale, local vicinity scale, and the black map shows underground locations. (That you've previously discovered. I think.)

The feel of it, mainly the graphics, really remind me of Flashback on the Amiga.

Had a quick blast on it this morning (still only on 2nd zone) and found it to be great fun :toot:

I've gotta be honest, it's a bit tough for me :oops:

Was there a difficulty setting? I might go back and turn it down, because i swear I died about a dozen times on some fairly simple enemies the other day.

There is, aye: default is difficulty it launched with, they then added an easier mode which removes some trophies.

I have died *a lot* but almost always through trying to rush things/not staying calm, and also making very poor use of projectile weapon(s) and how ammo regens. (I only use it now and then, as opposed to making it regular part of attacks, especially to help thin out numbers in the larger rooms.)

Oh and, don't forget about character upgrades from hub area.

Finally! I’ve wanted this game for ages. I’m not normally one for spritey visuals, but it looks delightful.

I've just completed the Switch version. It's been a great experience playing over Xmas, some of the boss battles seem impossible at the start but much like Hollow Knight perservance is rewarded by victory. Haven't found all of the nodes or keys but may go back at a later date for these.
