Adventure mode is very compelling. I think that it's because to wonder of exploring the map and finding its secrets, combined with the shorter levels, keeps things a lot more varied and moving a lot faster than the main campaign. I'm currently playing on hero mode and I'm enjoying it even more, though I can't say that it's wildly harder than hard mode. Nonetheless, I am very impressed by how much this game has gripped me!

Picked this up at the weekend on a whim knowing nothing about Dynasty Warriors but lots about Zelda.

strawberry floatin'...it's brilliant! Finished the prologue and trying out Adventure mode now.

Much Zelda. So joy.

I ordered this today which makes this the first game I've bought in aaaages. I haven't been playing games much recently but the premise of running around wrecking gooseberry fool combined with the Zelda universe seems like just what I'm after at the moment. Pleased to see it's getting a positive reaction around here too, I had this down as a bit of a stinker when it was revealed.

I finished the Twilight Palace last night and played as Midna, that level looks fantastic and Midna is a really fun character to play as.

The soundtrack in this is absolutely stunning in my opinion.

Has anyone picked up the DLC for this? The first pack is out today if you have. The playable villains DLC is free for everyone.
Playable Villains DLC
  • Free playable three villains
  • Can turn on/off cut-scenes.

Hyrule Warriors Master Quest DLC
  • 1 new weapon (Epona for Link)
  • New Scenario (The Black Witch Cia; five stories that occur in tandem with the original story)
  • Adventure Map (Appears to be a whole, big master quest version of the map)
  • 2 Costumes (One for Lana and one for Cia)
  • A new rank of weapons as well (Looks like a lot of weapon have gotten new 8-bit versions)
  • Also a whole lot of new costumes for other characters; mostly re-colors with a few new details

Is this the battle cutscenes that you can turn off? Because that is great if so.

Tempted to get this. Got back into the game this week as I've been off. Adventure Mode is brilliant.

What kind of length is this?

I must say, I wrote this off when it was first shown but the positive reviews and my love of Zelda have reeled me back in

Story Mode can be done in a couple of hours easy, Adventure Mode is quicker levels but a whole load of them to do...

Plus getting all the Heart Containers/Skulltulas/Weapons/etc....

There is a surprisingly large amount of stuff to do in the game...

Checked my timer and I have just over 20 hours on it. I've done one playthrough of Legend Mode, and I'm halfway through Adventure Mode.

I've put 21.5 hours into this so far. I'd say that about 15 of that was legend mode on hard.

I've been playing adventure mode on hero and it is difficult to get an A rank on some squares. It's a shame that there's no clear indication of what you need to do but I aim for 1000 KOs within 10 minutes and it usually works.

I know the time limit for A rank is 15 mins or less, I think for kills it's around 1200.

That's good to know, thanks. I'll give it a go when I'm playing next.

Just unlocked Girahim

EDIT:

It also looks like the Link amiibo will be compatible with the game in some way

Some of the A ranks for the weapon unlocks are just annoying. My Zelda is so weak, and it pains me greatly.

My money is on the Amiibo's being like the smash bros ones. They have Amiibo's coming out for Zelda, Shiek, Link and Gannondorf so to me that says the most logical solution would be to let you do a co-op play with an AI that you level up'd and trained.

After not expecting much when I picked it up, this has really surprised me and I'm loving it.

Did a few levels over the past couple of evenings, but I've just played it all tonight and it keeps getting better.

Just reached the

first Ganondorf level

How long have I got left?

I can't see myself ever playing a normal DW game, but the Zelda feel really draws you in, it's terrific fan service. Beautifully done. Looks lovely, there's loads to do and it's great fun to play. Highly recommended for any Zelda fans.

I read earlier today, probably on rllmuk, that this has already surpassed sales expectations, good to see it doing well.
