Gotta keep the thread bumped. (But only when I have stuff to to actually say.)

Should be have a couple more things to post and then that's it. Until I attempt a Nightmare run. Maybe others will have bought the game by then.

I feel a bit bad for SoK... he loves the game (my PS4 activity feed is full of SoK playing this!) but no-one else seems to have it!

Maybe one day, Saint, other GRcadians will discover the game and read through your past posts :toot: .

I blame Destiny 2, whatever is currently popular on Switch and the delayed PC release.

Finished the game a good few days ago but only gave up on it yesterday. Was attempting to get the platinum but was rushing through everything and so it just felt like a slog. Will probably come back to it at a later date.

Normal = too easy, btw. Especially when you consider you aren't going up against enemies on your own and the fact you have a gooseberry fool load of stuff (upgradeable weaponry, healing items, gear, "adventure gear", skills etc) at your disposal. Only felt truly challenging in a couple of spots on normal and they were hours and hours apart. So yeah, play it on the setting above normal. Y'know, if you play it. :slol:

If it makes you feel any better, I bought Ys Origins like you said. After half an hour I got lost and confused and I haven't touched it since. Shame though because I quite liked the actual gameplay, when I have a big chunk of Vita time I'll just restart it.

I may even know which bit you got lost on as the starting areas often catch me out, even when replaying it. I really do hope you get back into it because the melee combat in Origins is super strawberry floating satisfying. I would suggest playing it on PS4, though.

I just had a great idea which will mean I have to replay Ys Origins :toot:

PostRe: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA - PS4, Vita - Translation patch update: Script to be almost completely rewritten and acte
by Saint of Killers » Sat Nov 11, 2017 7:17 am

Hello everyone,

Alan here with your weekly update. I’m writing today’s entry from the voice recording studio!

We completed the script for the voiced lines on Monday and did a complete read of the lines to check for flow and consistency. (That was the picture that graced the blog from last week.) As we go through the recording process, it’s not uncommon to make edits based on feedback from the director, the talent, or simply because we decide something works a little better. But by and large, the new script is set.

As to the scope of this project, as we ended up rewriting nearly 100% of the script, we will be re-recording nearly everything. The only lines that will be kept are battle lines (exertion noises and the like) and some incidentals. Now would also be a good time to mention that we intend to bring back the entire cast from the first time around.

So far, we’ve finished our first session with Laxia and Sahad and things are going well!

Talk to you soon!
Alan

Wonder if they'll continue to be localised by NIS instead of X-Seed, the YS VIII launch seemed to be a bit of a mess on multiple fronts but the game still went on to sell really well.

I just hope we don't have to wait another year >,> But it was worth it for VIII. Got my hopes up too high during TGS expecting more news on Ys 9. Seemed like a right time to tease. Ys VIII was shown pretty early iirc. I remember freaking out over the concept art.
