Worst “I am so posh I have two toilets” post ever.

Don’t bother painting it at all, just have it filled wall to wall with arcade cabinets.

We have three :slol:

What's wrong with using the letter box?
Are you trying to let the heat out?

It's a first floor flat, I am not going to save any time if I have to walk downstairs to the letterbox.

This thread is going from strength to strength. It's since Ad mentioned it was ranking well on Google: we need to be as batshit as possible in case any potential new members are looking in, right?

Partially took it apart this evening. Think I've sorted the sticky button issue and I swapped the octagonal gate back to the square one. Next up is painting the sides I think.

Rex what type of paint did you use to do your Cabinet? Thinking just get some halfords car paint and either going matte or satin.

B+Q Valspar black matte sprat paint. Not particularly happy with the finish though, think a satin would have been nicer.

OK i think i'll go with satin. It's going on the two bare sides that used to have the graphics on, so i'll lightly sand those and just spray it on. The rest of it is in black already.

Got the satin. Would you mind showing me how the marquee bit on yours works?

How wide are the side panels on your arcade Ad? Because you could probably just buy a few metres on a roll of matt vinyl and trim it down with a craft knife, and wrap the edges with a hair dryer.

It's a printed vinyl stuck on a piece of perspex and lit from behind with one of these mounted on a piece of board

Today's progress:

Disassemble, swap octagonal stick gate back to square, remove sticky button and widen the gap to fix it. Fix IR receiver in place properly this time so it's right near the coin slot (see later pic):

Mask off the already painted edges to avoid running:

Lightly sand the surface and spray in satin black (3 light coats):

Nice finish once dried:

Starting to look pretty damn smart now:

IR receiver hidden up close behind the coin slot. Please enjoy copious dog hairs on a gooseberry fool carpet:

Card mockups for the screen and speaker holding parts. I'll be having these laser cut this week so hopefully it'll be finished by the end of the month. I'll also be having a back and bottom panel made at the same time.
