Hit me up. Won't cost much, especially if you can produce it to measurements as an AI/PDF layout. It will be correct to less than .2mm. I'll try to find some course cabinet style super matt finish. I can also get carbon fibre effect.

That's vinyl right?

Yes, about 70-80 nanometer PVC with acrylic or solvent based adhesive rated 7-10 years indoors and heat up to 115 degrees. Waterproof.

You can also get cast stuff to mould it with heat gun around curves but it's more pricey (usually used for vehicle wraps).

I've found this really interesting to read through, although sounds frustrating as gooseberry fool.

It's so annoying, if everything had worked with the screen this would be finished now. Now I've got to work out a return refund to China for the main board, and that'll take a month, maybe more. Tempted to sack it off and just buy something different from a different seller and take the risk out of that side.

I got a box full of buttons and a stick in the post today :toot: That clicky noise that micro-switches make just takes me back to one of these!

Ad, I'm looking at getting a Pi to RetroPie it. How did you find doing that, and did you get as far as testing the various different emulators with ROMs?

I'm mainly interested in NES, SNES, Mame and possibly Amiga. I have a ton of the ROMs on a card on my PSP, but the poor SNES emulation, especially mode 7, always left me cold.

Keen to know if it really works 'out the box', or if you needed to fiddle with settings a lot for different games as you go along.

Doubt I'll do anything as ambitious as your lovely little project, but I might get myself to the Lego shop and buy some bricks to make a wee house for the Pi.

I did this. It was painless. Everything you need to know is on https://retropie.org.uk/documentation/i ... -retropie/

I maybe had 1 or 2 quirks (I believe it didn't boot the first 1 or 2 times and then was fine). Another thing you'll need (if you don't use the server, for example you have no ethernet for the Pi) is a USB stick formatted to FAT-16 I think, to copy your ROMs onto and then RetroPi just sucks them up.

It works great with a DualShock 3/SIXAXIS controller via USB.

All the emus just ran without any configuration - you might get audio stuttering and a touch of slowdown on a Pi 1 Model B or below.

The thing that took the longest was just sorting out my ROMs and deleting the ones that I know I'll never play, so my list wasn't forever long.

As said above, it's really easy to do and the retropie front end is nice and simple.

New board has arrived, will be plugging it in on my lunch break :dread:

Thanks, both. Think I'm going to give it a go. The mini NES has whetted my appetite.

Good luck at lunch, Ad. Fingers crossed! :D

It's all out at the moment, need to figure out where to mount the pcbs and then get my custom bezel laser cut.
