It's a good concept, if not spectacularly executed. Here's what you need to fix:
- There's way too much Soundgarden and Pearl Jam on there, they account for around half of the quiz. If you're going to have a quiz with multiple answers for the same bands, keep the amounts fairly similar.
- The transitions are a bit confusing. The five star quizzes have a good, self explanatory system where the next band pops up after the fifth star of the previous band. Not saying to copy that, but it's certainly something to keep in mind.
- More bands. Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains are barely scratching the grungey surface. Put some tougher bands in there - L7, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Melvins etc. If you decrease the amount of albums for each band you could have maybe 35-40 answers and 15-20 bands.
I love band quizzes on sporcle, when they're done right they're really gratifying and I don't think you need to do too much to get this over the line!
I was going to add a few lesser known bands (Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Mother Love Bone) and was thinking of cutting the number albums as there's definitely a lot of Pearl Jam in there atm.
I might drop the grunge theme and make it into a 90's rock bands quiz.
I quite like the grunge theme. You could always do another quiz for 90s rock bands in general and keep this one as a grunge effort - there's not too much in the way of grunge quizzes on Sporcle.
