There is a silly bitch in the local pub that always asks if I want ice when I ask for a glass to have bottle of beer I bought from as drinking out of the bottle is wrong.

Yup. It's what you do with a shitty mass crap larger but something that is decent you want a glass more specifically a glass where you nose will be in the rim with a sip you get the smell with the sip so you can really appreciate the taste and get the full flavour.

At home I tend to use Teku glasses for beer as they make it super easy to get aroma and taste in one.

If it the crappy kopperberg gooseberry fool you can chuck as much ice as you want as it won't ruin it, proper cider however should not be iced and shouldn't really be all that chilled.
