All that talk about how it was Back to the Future day yesterday got me thinking about other classic films set in the not too distant future.

Turns out The Running Man is set in 2017 so I though I'd ask a question that's been rattling round my head since I was a child.

I say "yes" by the way.

It would probably be a bit gooseberry fool with mostly guys hiding and trying to ambush people but yeah, Id stick it on from time to time.

Depends on who they got on it, seeing some of these so called criminal hard men literally fighting for their lives would make for good entertainment I think.

Nah. I'd be way too outraged to watch that gooseberry fool Always give Running Man a watch when it's on though.

I would think it was a terrible thing and that it was beyond awful that the government would allow people to die just for public entertainment.

But yeah I would probably watch it.

If it is set in 2017, does that mean we can have Running Man day in a couple of years like we had Back to the Future day this week?

If it was with the twats from various reality TV shows over the years instead of criminals, yeah.

That would be the "celebrity" special shown on Christmas Day.

That's one celeb special I wouldn't try doubly hard to avoid.

No, I have no objection to fake violence and death but I couldn't watch a real fight to the death.

Would be better than 90% of the gooseberry fool on TV so yeah I'd give it a watch.

Absolutely I would.

Definitely not. Real violence is strawberry floated up, don't think I'd want to watch people being brutalised and murdered in my free time
