10s is pretty popular in the East and 7s very popular in the Pacific as well as all the World Cup teams.

A lot of nations (as do we) base central funding on Olympic status so we should see a fair few countries boost their overall rugby infrastructure to put forward a 7s squad.

Theres going to be plenty of 7's teams, a lot of African and Asian nations have reasonably strong 7's teams, and the Pacific Islands are very strong at it. It really is a different beast to 15s Rugby, more more flowing and unstructured. Great to see it included.

Ultra Marathon run, 50 or 100 mile trail run - would like it to be run at day and night.

Major downside is a differing altitudes and a trail route would mean Olympic Records are influenced heavily by ground conditions/elevation.

Not a sport, but I think the Olympics would be much more fun if all the athletes had to put their head on a stick and twirl round to make themselves dizzy before the sports.

That, and binocular football.

Yup, each fight is scored similar to boxing and they go to the scorecard if theres no knockout.

Full fledged UFC style MMA would probably a bit too violent for the Olympics but theres no reason they couldnt include BJJ or some similar grappling competition with limited striking allowed.

No I mean the points system that is used for amateur boxing and judo/wrestling, not a round scoring.

Ah right, yeah dont see why you couldnt, just award points for striking, successful takedowns, submission attempts and do the same for good defense of these things. Cant see a reason you wouldnt get a workable form of the sport by adding points scoring.

They could just implement the Abu Dhabi BJJ tournament straight into the games. Simples.

On a serious note, La Crosse.
