I thought it would be ice hockey, according to Wikipedia lacrosse is historically the national sport of Canada (seems it's origins are in Canada) but in 1994 there was a bill passed to make ice hockey the national "winter sport" and lacrosse the national "summer sport". They came to this comprise after opposition of the original bill which was to make ice hockey the national sport.

Ah interesting. I too always assumed Ice Hockey was the national sport seeing as it's on their money too. But my Canadian sister-in-law said it was La Crosse. I thought that La Crosse was just played by American jocks in highschool.

Fun looking sport anyway and looks rather brutal too.

Me too, but that assumption was entirely based on American Pie films alone.

Also, I think it's Lacrosse rather than La Crosse?

I thought it was Lacrosse too but for some reason assumed Bunni was correct.

At no point does it say in that article the International Olympic Committee are considering esports for 2020 :lol:

I remember a few years ago they did the FIFA player of the year awards. The sports people got their awards, but before then they did a FIFA game winner award. Some dude won a tournament online and got an award in front of sport personalities. Very cringe worthy, especially as he was typically over weight.
