If you could change one 2016 outcome which would you pick - Brexit or President Trump?

Fed up talking videogames? Why?

You have the power to reverse only one of 2016's major outcomes. Which do you choose?

Poll ended at Wed Nov 16, 2016 12:10 pm

I'd reverse Brexit - the UK would be remaining in the European Union.

71%
I'd reverse Trump - Hillary Clinton would be president-elect of the US.

NATO would be fine without the USA? You really are living in la la land.

I'd change the democratic nominee personally. People need to accept that Hillary was the wrong candidate and the DNC colluded to give the nomination to a candidate that was too tainted and couldn't even beat strawberry floating Donald Trump.

I'd rather have seen Biden or Sanders on the ticket, and some data is coming in (I think The Independent has mentioned it) to suggest they would have beaten Trump.

I'm seeing a lot of bigotry today on my Facebook feed and on the radio and in the media, but not from the right but from the left. It's insane the kinds of things they are happy to say about the demographics of Trump voters which would have them in uproar when said about minorities. It's getting to the point where I feel deeply uncomfortable identifying as left wing with the "either with us or against us" attitude that is infecting it.

Remember when Trump kind of hinted at 2 amendment voters shooting Hillary? Now the left seems to be hoping someone assassinates Trump. It's just insane what is happening to people.

Passions are running high after what has been an unusually intense election, Red Dog.

This was what was once considered an unlikely worst case scenario. That it has actually come to pass is extremely upsetting to many people.

The selfish part of me says Brexit, but you have to go with Trump because he is going to repeal the Paris Accords and put the final nail in the coffin for climate change.

Brexit. That could have longer term damage on us than a Trump presidency, I think.

Unless Trump starts throwing nukes everywhere

Personally I'd rather value people's democratic views, respect that they've made those decisions for a reason and actively look to do something to give them a better option next time around.

Trump

He's not going to affect me in any direct way but his presidency is going to make life awful for a lot of people, strawberry float with the incoming end of obamacare it's probably going to speed up the deaths of several. Plus it's the legitimisation of factless fascism as a campaign platform, this is only going to encourage the likes of the National Front in France and UKIP here.
Brexit is really bad and really pigheaded but it's mainly causing economic harm rather than direct harm to people. Of course this could all change the moment May can operate without EU courts.

Oh also a republican senate, congress and presidency is going to completely kill any hope of mitigating climate change.

On that note:
Wednesday we got word that Myron Ebell is his pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. Ebell is a well-known climate skeptic who wears these credentials proudly.

Again you are arguing something that wasn't mentioned (unless you think Paris is in Eastern Europe).

NATO would not stick around for long if the USA left it.

President Trump even if my reasons for that are selfish.

At the moment in Ireland we don't have any popular party spouting off guff about foreigners taking our jobs and I think having a ringside seat for the mess Brexit is likely to be for the next couple of years will act as a deterrent to any party taking that line anytime soon. Theres a few skidmarks out there advocating an Irexit but a shitty Brexit should hopefully shut them up for good. It might also lead to Irish politicians acting to prevent the situation where so many people outside of the capital seem to have become increasingly disillusioned with the way the country is being run. Dublin/London are the engines on which the Irish/British economies run but the country needs to be a good place for everyone.

I'd have to say brexit because it has borked parts of my business.
