After the greatness of Ghostbusters, what other films (old or new) should be turned into a game?

I'd love to see a game of Battle Royale. Despite the slightly dodgy subject matter, it could make for a great first person game.

You'd play as one of the class of school children and the game could play out in real time over 48 hours. You'd be given a backpack containing some supplies and a random weapon, if you want something better you'd have to kill someone else and take their weapon. The game would start with you dumped on the island and have to kill everyone else before the 48hour timer runs out as per the film. There'd be danger zones marked on the map as per the film that you have to avoid at certain times of day else you get killed. Death would mean game over and you'd have to start again. You could save your game at any time and pick it up later to avoid having to play the 48 hours in one sitting.

It could also have an awesome multiplayer mode with a smaller island and 30 players all competing in fixed length games.. be the last one standing before the timer runs out otherwise everyone left dies.

So.. that's my pitch.. what film would you do and how'd you do it?

I'm too tired to come up with a pitch but I would quite like to see a game based on The Dark Crystal or an aspect of it. Very memorable story and characters/mythos to extrapolate. I actually once pitched a Head Over Heels adaptation with Fizzgig as the main character. Amirite? Failed miserably.

Make it on Wii for maximum playability.

I'd make it use the vitality sensor too, you'd have to get your blood pumping so you can get a stonking in-game erection. Perhaps if you get your heart going really fast you can cause some anal tearing.

Anything with Arnie in it. Being shot means nothing, and you just blow the gooseberry fool out of everything, spouting one-liners.

again on Wii. But seriously that is the most messed up suggestion yet.

Of course I was referring to the film's structure and not that scene.

The Last of The Mohicans

If done properly the game could be insanely epic.

Hasn't that pretty much died now because 3D Realms have no more money?

Angels & Demons.

The game would be played from two perspectives. Robert Langdon and the Assassin. Vatican City and parts of Rome would be recreated, allowing you to freely explore Rome and view lots of artwork.

As Langdon, you would run & drive around Rome looking for the next marker along the path of Illumination which would be different for the game, looking for clues among the artwork, using a GPS map and a directory of information to help you find the next marker. The game would be on a timer, giving you one hour real time to locate the next altar of science. If you are quick enough at working out the clues, you might be able to find and save the cardinal, resulting in taking cover from the assassin trying to shoot you, surviving for a set amount of time, waiting for the next wave of cops to chase off the assassin.

As the assassin, the game would turn Hitman style where you must sneak the cardinal into the murder location, using your pistol and stealth. If you succesfully sneak the cardinal in, you watch a cutscene where the assassin sets up the murder, then you can choose to sneak out before Langdon and the cops arrive, or stay in the shadows and kill them, making sure the cardinal dies and is not rescued.

To make the game longer, new cardinals should be included. Instead of four, have seven or so.

28 Days/Weeks Later

A huge sandbox game set in the ruins of British society. Features Havok, Euphoria and Digital Molecular Matter similar to Force Unleashed, in addition it features Volition's own Geo-Mod 2 engine.

You start the game in a bin piled under a bunch of charred corpses and debris (a major fire has burned around here and the debris, while cooked, shielded you enough) by the husk of a grand theatre. The game prompts you to hit a button and you burst out from under them, which shows off the physics and stuff.

The 'city' is large (for games), a little bigger than Liberty City in GTA IV if the city only had one river and all the islands were otherwise closer together and more or less fully connected by land. Outside the city is the countryside, which extends a few more kilometers out from the city and in places is crisscrossed with deserted motorways, in others there are towns and villages, farms, fields, and some forested/moor/valley 'remote' land - all becoming a bit wild and overgrown.

The Infected are all over the place, you can hear their howls from across the city, hear the occasional ratatata of gunfire from afar. Obviously there are survivors, some lone rangers, some family groups, some roaming gangs and some organised military/police groups. Some are good, some are bad, but everyone wants to survive and get out - and that's what the story's all about.

You'll get involved in all sorts of actions - basic survival, food hunts, fights with groups, fleeing hordes of infected, fighting them if you manage to find good enough equipment/people, finding places to call home and then gathering up the materials to fortify them. Maybe you could even band with other people - the more you have, the more you can do, the bolder you can be, but the chances for betrayal if someone gets bitten also rise.

The weapons you find are the standard fare - gangland sawn-off shotguns and uzis, handguns, police issue batons and tazers, black market weapons from around the globe, and, yes, military issue gooseberry fool on the order of several grades of rockets, grenades, flamethrowers better guns and so on.

Other things in the game would include would be a customisable armour system (choose what sort of armour to have and where, maybe combine them at the expense of speed or maneuverability, or remove for the sake of speed), persistent world damage, a raised chance in Infected-heavy areas of finding one of them in the back seat of a vehicle you decide to hijack.

A 24 hour day clock thingy would also be included, and there'd be four weather pattern sets - one for each of the four seasons (a different set of weather states are active depending on the time of year the game detects your 360/PC is set to, or maybe the game could ask you to set the current day of the month and it'd do calculations based off that).

Edit: On the subject of the player being bitten there could be, on the easier difficulties (or after you've found certain locations in the region), a timer lasting between a minute and five minutes, demanding that unless you get to a medical research centreor hospital and inject yourself with a random unmarked needle full of serum the boffins forgot to label, and get miraculously cured, your health meter will dwindle as time passes until the timer expires and you, for all intents and purposes, die.

Edit: There could be multiplayer modes including one where a random player is Infected and has to spread the RAGE about (TimeSplitters-style), a Horde-style mode where you have to work together, find a defensible position and await the masses (the cries and whoops of the infected could be quite chilling on some of the darker maps), a simple deathmatch mode, and a one-on-one infected vs lone ranger mode.

Demolition Man. Although, don't base it on the film itself, make it a prequel set in the anarchic version of LA at the start of the film, where you take down criminals in no-go areas of the city using any means necessary. Put Geo-mod 2 in it, to help it live up to the title. Make the plot lead up to the incident at the start of the film with Simon Phoenix and the bus passengers, and have the game end at the point that Stallone's character is put into cryo-stasis.
