Not sure about the combat so far (a couple of hours in). Its ok I suppose, but I've been playing Bloodborne for the past 10 days and I'm having a bit of a problem unlearning my responses to that.

I think you've missed an area in Midgard called Veithurgard. It's an awesome side quest open area, which has been my favourite part of the game so far.

#1
God of War on PS4 is the fastest selling title in the franchise' history.

It has sold over 35% more units in its first week than the previous best, 2010's God of War III.

And it has already overtaken the previous major Sony exclusive this year - Shadow of the Colossus.

The result is that the game is easily this week's No.1 (matching the success of God of War II and III), knocking Far Cry 5 down to No.2. Ubisoft's game had been No.1 for three weeks solid, and remains the biggest launch of the year so far. Of course, Far Cry 5 is available on two platforms - PS4 and Xbox One

Yakuza 6 also did well

It takes a little bit of time to get to grips with. I wasn't entirely comfortable until the skill trees opened up so that I choose combos and abilities that I like.

Wish I could have seen what happened on the other side of the light of Alfheim, it looked like some badass gooseberry fool went down.

Only tried the first couple of hours of it and so far I'm impressed, I actually like Kratos now which is an achievement in itself.
The story is certainly engaging and the combat is top notch, I've missed loads of secret areas and items so I guess some backtracking is in order, later on.

It is fantastic so far and I've kept wandering off exploring the new area to search the chests, relics, artefacts and etc.

I've just met Brok's brother Sindri and just before that it was pretty cool to explore Veithurgard.

The combat opens up like any other action game as you gain more experience of the mechanics. There's so much surprising depth. I'm still getting to grips with learning crowd control and utilising Atreus (some of the reset combo's you can do with his arrows to stunned enemies feels great). Combat that keeps you learning through out the game always gets a nod from me.

I've started unlocking things, but it all seems a little bit haphazard at the moment, weapon upgrades, armour upgrades, skills, runes about 5 other different upgrade things I can't remember at the moment.

It's all just a bit messy.

Yeah I'd be lying if I said I found that stuff intuitive. You mentioned the combat initially and I found that part more enjoyable when I could unlock the combos I like in these games.

This is a bit good isn't it? Quite surprised how funny some of it is, and my god it looks stunning. Loved God of War 1&2, skipped 3 and Ascension, this feels like a true sequel.

How could you play and love 2 but skip 3 which is a direct carry on from 2's ending. 3 was brilliant.

Yeah by the time 3 rolled around I needed them to mix it up and do something different.

I've spent time doing side quests and powering up. I think I've unlocked everything to open up new areas.

Very happy that a lot of the good stuff has been kept out of the marketing as there are some epic bits.

Wasn't keen on the world map and or boating but it's growing on me.

Voice acting is flawless, the kid is the real star.

Wish my image sig would work
