It's staggering when you think there is almost no competition as Nintendo have gone off on there own tangent and Microsoft have easily the worst first party line up in modern console history. Nice that they're not phoning it in.
Nintendo are still making great games, Mario Odyssey, BOTW and Splatoon 2 all in the last year, Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon also have great potential
Microsoft are really paying for the cull of studios under Don Mattrick; Bungie, Epic, Bizarre and Lionhead all gone, their only first party critical success this gen has been Forza Horizon 3, the rest have been lukewarm (Halo 5, Gears 4) or sub-par (Quantum Break, Sea of Thieves). Past glories keep the fans on board, but I wonder how long it will be until they give up hope like I did.
Sony have really narrowed down on epic third-person action games and, while development of these games seems to take forever, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn being critical and commercial hits, and I think with God of War, Spider-man, Ghost of Tsushima, Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding the PS4's best days are still ahead.

Looks and sounds great but I'm not fussed about the story, will wait til we really see how deep the gameplay and world are before deciding on this one.

Sony have come a long way on PS3 and 4. A lot of their third person stuff always had a slightly shonky, rough around the edges quality to it compared to Nintendo and Microsoft. SOCOM, Syphon Filter, The Getaway, Medievil...

Looking back at my retained PS2 collection, I have nothing that was developed by an internal Sony studio, most are third party Japanese exclusives.
Credit to Shuhei Yoshida for turning things around of the last decade, "masterpiece" after "masterpiece"

I'm not that fussed about the graphics. (Looks like someone went mad with the sharp tool or something on Kratos and Boy.)
