Anyone else had these issues when fighting her

not letting you change weapons to blade, he takes them out and puts them back away
Camera losing her
Unable to preform R1/R2 attack’s despite them being ready
Her attacking through the shield attack sometimes

Strange, I don't remember any of those bugs, I do remember her being an absolute cow though.

Strange. The worst being

not being able to use R1/R2 attacks as you leave yourself open and the blades was extra strange as you see kratos pull them out and than immediately put them back in back to fists

This only happened during this fight and not once in any of the others or in any part of the game. So weird

Finished chapter 1 with default controls. :toot: Cheered to the heavens when, part way through c2, I realised controls could be remapped. Proceeded to get my arse handed to me because superior controls don't mean much when your muscle memory is thick as. :x Whoever thought sticking melee on the shoulder buttons was a good idea needs a talking to.

It's so you can move and attack while still being able to control the camera. Just a quick warning if you've mapped attack to the face buttons, there are upgrades to the axe throw later that mean you have to hold the attack button down while using the camera to aim, which could be difficult you're using the face buttons.

No problem. I don't think you ever need to use it though so you could get by with ignoring it if you wanted to.

The reason I changed it to face buttons is that my older DS4's suffered from borked triggers from heavy-handed usage. But thinking about it now, it shouldn't be a issue as Sony added in a stronger springs ages ago, and I have back-up DS4's if something does go wrong. So yeah, probably worth going back to default settings.

Finally finished this yesterday. The ending was a bit of a letdown but my expectations were low based on general feedback so it wasn't that bad.

I think I'd settle on a 9/10. The combat is extraordinarily fun, the setting is made full use of, it looks magnificent and its an interesting way for the series to have gone. I do think the father/son relationship stuff was massively overrated however, with the glowing reviews and comparisons to TLoU being a shocked reaction to the fact a GoW game could be even slightly mature. The pacing also falls off a cliff around the halfway mark: the obsessive compulsive in me demanded I do the majority of the side-quests before completing the story so for about 6 or 7 hours the main plot was left hanging.

So, a fantastic game but certainly not the Best of the Generation stunner reviews made it out to be.

The gooseberry fools :x

I've done a number of missions in the same area and am now *really* enjoying the game. First Dwarf King/Dragon side mission was great.

I have to say that I am *loving* the various chest "puzzles" Their only downside being the loot.

Completed my first "other realm" yesterday. Really enjoyed it (the BioShock feels at one point!), even the backtracking wasn't awful.

I've beat 7 out of 8 so just need to find out where the last one is. Last one I beat was at the end of the Muspelheim trials and they became seriously good. Loved the beat 100 opponents one just felt like a total tough bastard wiping them all out :datass: only one to give me trouble was the dont get hit once and that's because my daughter decided to steal my headset and wear it so I couldn't hear anything :x

Yeah I’ve beaten eight Valkyries but I haven’t faced the Queen yet. I’ll do it sometime this week.

God of War had the best debut month ever for a PlayStation exclusive

God of War has had a better debut than any other PlayStation exclusive ever, according to The NPD Group. Not only was it the best-selling game in the U.S. in April, but it’s performance in its first month also outpaces all other PlayStation exclusives. That’s not just PlayStation 4 — it’s for any PlayStation since the platform’s debut in 1995.

God of War came out on April 20, so it was only available for 10 days in the month. But it was still able to break the record, beating Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which came out for the PlayStation 2 in October 2004.

Aside from historic sales, God of War has also received acclaim from critics. Our review praised the action game for its beautiful world, stylish combat, and more thoughtful portrayal of Kratos.

While online multiplayer games-as-service titles, notably Fortnite, continue to earn massive amounts of money and permeate cultural awareness, God of War shows that single-player games can still make a lot of noise. Sony has released many high-profile single-player exclusives for the PlayStation 4 since it launched in 2013, including Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Sony still has other major exclusives coming to the PlayStation 4 this year, including Insomniac’s Spider-Man. That open-world game launches on September 7.

:fp: Such a shame that the Hræzlyr fight (the most exciting fight since the first chapter, but arguably the best one yet) ends with nary more than a few button presses. Yeah, it *mostly* plays like a traditional boss fight with plenty of action required on the player's part, but the climax doesn't even have a QT event!
