Can anyone recommend a good image hosting website that I can use for adding photos to the forum, I used http://postimages.org for years (all the time when I was on SONM) but I have just tried it now and it says they have blocked my IP address, I have no idea why? I have used http://tinypic.com just now but it’s a little bit of a hassle on my iPod because the site doesn’t resize into mobile format,

I use imgur.com.

Everyone uses imgur these days. It has an official app on the App Store.

Thanks, I must be really stupid because I have just downloaded the app and added a photo but can’t find any forum links, I just called the photo “test” and it’s got comments on it already

The forum link is listed as "BBCode (message boards and forums)" and should be under the HTML code snippet.

In-app you could always just copy the Direct Link and enclose it in [img] tags.

I couldn’t find the code just “copy link” but that’s ok because it’s not a issue to add the [img] tags, the only other thing was it didn’t ask the size I’d like, does the photo above display ok? (Not to big)

The image is a little too big and gets cut off with the theme I'm using. Try this code, it'll make it better:

You can copy and paste just not using one of those boxes, we used to use them on SONM for the football prediction thread

no it was just a photo I used as I test, it was a photo that I wanted on the last page of the chat thread on SONM but they kept deleteing it

Edit - Postimage is working again! It must have just been a mistake

IPs are shared with many internet users unless you pay for a fixed IP address, so it was probably some other gooseberry fool that did bad things while assigned the same IP address.

And yes Imgur is better. The reason you can't find the BBCode links is probably you're on imgur.com on mobile and it's not possible to hover over the image to see this, bad design on their part.

But maybe the app will have easier options.





It used to be easier, but they hid them. Since they tried to make the site more like a social network. But it's bloody fast. Click and drag image to any page to upload, bam, get link.

Yeah kmgur is the way to go, it also generates differ sizes so just before the file extension you can add s l or h and it will pic one of the generated thumbnails rather than the full size pic.

However the forum for make sure pics can't go bigger than the width of the screen so big pics aren't such an issue.

On imgur you just long press on an image and select copy direct link.

When you upload images, set them to hidden so they don't end up in the public pool of images (they still show when you link them here).

I use Abload. (But then I upload via desktop and I have no idea what their mobile app/site is like.)
