Awesome. Good to see that the Indie scene is looking after one another.

Lovely stuff. Might look into this more when I go into games development. Assuming any talented coders and artists want an ideas man/writer on board, that is.

I'd love to go indie.

If only I didn't have a wife and kids to worry about. :(

Well, presumably the idea behind all this is that you don't have to, because they'll fund you (if your idea's sound and all that gubbins).

They'll fund you aye, but working for a bigger studio pays more, which is why Shadow like myself would be reluctant to do it.

Like Sony's Pub Fund this is a great way to get smaller devs making games but at the same time they may not have big bills to worry about at home :(

But surely the potential rewards are greater if you're independent? I appreciate there's a much higher risk involved, but if you have funding, that risk is significantly lessened.

Oh yeah for sure, but that risk for me right now is not something I can do. Once the wife is well enough to work again I would love to give it a crack :(

i'm always having great ideas for games...due you think they'd give me enough funding to hire all the people needed to actually make the games? ;)
