You are the Indigo Tribe Vigilantes.

This is your own private thread - only you and I can see this.
(Bear in mind this thread will be made public at the end of the game!)
You are welcome to use an alternative method of communication if you wish.
Rules and objectives are given in the Signup Thread and will later be included in the OP of the Game Thread.
I intend to create the main Game Thread on Sunday night or Monday morning, but I'll let you know when it's live - at which point the game will begin.
While I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your chat as and when I can (hope that's OK!), please can I ask that you PM me as per the ruleset for any important decisions. This way I won't miss them.
I'm talking about: claiming powers; using powers; anything related to Contests; and weekend vote kills.
Bear in mind the rules - any and all members of the tribe speak for the collective.
As such I will count the first relevant response via PM from any of you as your Tribe's official response (apart from weekend vote kills, where you each speak for yourselves).
Before the official start of the game, please can you choose a Tribe name and let me know. This will be public.
Have fun, and good luck!

I have a message to pass on from OrangeRKN, who is likely to be unavailable until Tuesday morning due to personal circumstances:

It feels a bit weird that this will be made public at the end, right? It's like knowing your corpse is going to get dug up and put in a museum.

I think a rough summary is that each weekday the thread votes on a 'suspect' by 2pm. Everyone then votes for which tribe they think the suspect belongs to. If the majority are correct, the suspect is confirmed as a member of that tribe, if incorrect then the suspect's real tribe is not revealed. On the weekend, all the suspects for that week are put up for the lynch and everyone votes to kill two of them.

The aim of the game is for our tribe to get the most points. We get points by:

- Correctly identifying a suspect's correct tribe (not including voting on our own tribe members if one of us is the suspect)
- Killing a player whose tribe has been revealed in thread (we get a kill power if all of us post in the thread on three consecutive days)
- Winning a CONTEST (weekly events, and winning also gives us SAFETY from the weekend kills)
- Being the majority tribe at the end of the game

Strategy-wise I'm a bit uncertain on the best way to approach this. One key thing is obviously that we all want to be posting in the thread each day to get the SAVE (2 consecutive days) and KILL (3 consecutive days) powers.

Is it too mean to choose something like "PREEZY GANG" for our tribe name? You know, sow some chaos.

My thoughts were to pick a team name that strongly suggests a particular group of people as, if nothing else, it points the finger early doors. But then is it tricky to vote against said person in said tribe publically to score the points.

And then I wondered if a double bluff would be a good idea. Go ahead and name ourselves after a hareem anime for example. I think it's a bad idea though!

Mm, I think a deliberately misleading name might be a solid way to get an early advantage - but it's going to be tricky to get right for sure.

This was my concern. Say for example we went for something obvious like PREEZY GANG (PG) and Preezy gets picked as a suspect. It could become a consensus in thread to make PG the majority vote to determine whether it is a double bluff or not. This would mean we lose out on a chance to gain points by correctly predicting his tribe, or at least without potentially giving away that we are PG ourselves, and when he gets put up as a suspect again we've lost our advantage as we still only know one tribe he's not part of, while everyone else now knows two (ours and their own).

Alternatively, everyone could assume it's way too obvious and must be a bluff meaning they rule out Preezy being part of PG, which again diminishes an advantage as other tribe members are then more likely to guess his tribe correctly and gain points.

Those were just my initial thoughts anyway.

EDIT: Actually you only get voting points if you vote correctly and it's the majority vote so the tribe is actually revealed that time. That may change things, struggling to think through the strategies for this game to be honest

To be honest, ORkn's suggestion probably works well. On theme, non descript, but people could make wild jumps to accuse past vigis to be part of our tribe, but not our main intent.

Definitely need to keep this in mind before slagging off all the other tribes and how they're playing during the game.

Given that tribe points are awarded publicly I think we have to be really careful about not accidentally giving our tribe away in both the voting patterns and by any points reveal if we end up voting correctly. I'm not sure how the contests are going to work but again that's another potential way of accidentally giving ourselves up when points are awarded if any of the participation is in thread.

I'll try to keep a spreadsheet of which players have posted each day. If a tribe uses a KILL ability day 4 it could help rule out some players being part of that tribe if they haven't posted every day.

Just a couple of rule clarification questions:

- If a kill attempt is made on a player with SAVE or SAFETY so the kill is prevented, is the attempt announced in thread so all players are aware of the use of KILL and that the protection is now broken? Or is only the tribe who made the kill attempt made aware?

- Presumably the accruing of the same power doesn't overlap days? For example, if we all post days 1, 2 and 3 we get a KILL power. If we then all post day 4 do we get another KILL power for posting days 2, 3 and 4? Or does it need to be a new set of 3 days (4, 5 and 6)?

- If we don't use a power can we have more than one KILL or SAVE available to use at the same time?

I will announce the kill attempt publicly, as well as the fact it was blocked, but I won't announce the target, nor the identity of the tribe that made the attempt. I would then inform both tribes individually: I'd tell the tribe that made the attempt that their kill attempt on player X had failed; and I'd tell the target tribe that they'd withstood a kill attempt (but not from who) and that the relevant power used to fend off the kill attempt is now spent.

It doesn't overlap, no. Each sequence is individual. You could redeem a kill power for days 1 2 and 3, but if you did so you'd need another 3 consecutive days to earn another kill (or 2 for a Save).

You can hoard powers yes.
