Eurogamer gave it a 6/10 which is about right for the entire series.

This game only applies to hardcore inFamous fans.

I haven't got that far in, to be honest. The story seems mediocre so far, and just like TLOU DLC, you already know what's going to happen, except this time I don't trust them on the character development front.

It's also told in flashbacks, with this crappy arena and the evil woman making you fight people every now and then between story missions. I don't know how regularly you get dragged back here and out of Seattle, but it could get real old, real fast. They don't seem to last longer than 5-10 minutes, though.

Other than that, it's cool. Fetch's neon is different to Delsin's and they've got some pretty cool stuff like what are essentially Agility Orbs floating about the place, races, etc.

And I never got to play with the photomode so I'm getting my money's worth out of just that. Shame you can't play as Delsin in Seattle, though, would like to take some Smoke screenshots.

Why the hell did Naughty Dog decide to use the same sort of photomode except essentially flip all the controls?

Don't get me wrong. I love inFamous 1, 2, FOB and Second Son. It's like a cult favourite of mine.

Yeah, I thought it was a fresh spin on the inFamous series.

I wasn't overly enamoured with inFamous: Second Son but a new story like this for £11.99 is very reasonable. It offers a new adventure and it doesn't exclude people who didn't buy the main game.

Part of why the Eurogamer reviewer has a problem with the game is because he is unable to put it into one of the already-made categories we have for games, ie. is it DLC or a full-blown game. He says "First Light's weird, limbo nature makes it a hard one to pin down."

When games on shop shelves costs £50 I reckon the £15.99 price for the retail release will lead to a few impulse purchases and hopefully more mid-priced games.

I've gone for this. Seems a decent title to play until Destiny arrives. £11.99 seems fair. It's 10gig for anyone that's interested.

Will we get to change her clothes like we could Delsin?... :shifty:

Didn't you hate Second Son?

This supposedly sticks very close to the same formula.

I found it a bit boring yea haha. Neon was the best thing about it though, so this should be fine as you don't have to deal with the lame powers.

More than anything I just want a new game to play until Destiny and I had exactly this amount in PSN credit. I'm burnt out on TLOU, as good as it is.

I'm really enjoying this. Fetch's Neon is way better than Delsin's. Her hover and air dash mean getting around with Neon efficiently requires a bit of skill.

Spoilered for size:

Neon Grafitti is pretty cool:

These are the "lumens" (basically agility orbs) - shooting all over the place grabbing them is a lot of fun. Some of them move (these are the races).

I'm really enjoying it. The story missions are crap so far ("Stand on this van and protect it") but I'm having a lot of fun just running around, getting Lumens and doing races.

The story in this is incredibly melodramatic. The voice acting is appalling at times.

I'm really enjoying Last Light. Not sure what it's doing differently, but I'm just having a lot of fun with it. I do think having Neon from the start is a large factor and it's better than Delsin's Neon. I like the leaderboard aspect of the training room missions, nice touch.

Glad I downloaded it.

Fetch's arse is really annoying me in this. Specifically, her belt. When she runs at full pelt it warps in ways that just look strawberry floating ridiculous. Fair enough, it's a small detail on her character model, but it's right in the centre of the screen for like 90% of the game. It's kinda unacceptable that nobody noticed the problem.

The core of why there is problems in First Light?

Just completed the evil run through of 2nd son yesterday and feel that overall this is the worst in the series. Can't see me getting this expansion anytime soon and not sure I'd even bother with a full sequel. Enjoyed the video powers most, particularly the stabbing when invisible.

Yes?

her face always looks really odd in photo mode too.

Why did they change the combat in this series? It was great in infamous 2, you had to take cover be aware of your surroundings and use them to your advantage. When you were low on health you had to get to the nearest electrical supply to heal up. Not run around like a prat.

In this you mostly just dash around shooting stuff and then run away when your health is low, there's barely any strategy. It's fun, but pretty mindless. And I'm playing on expert.
