You like it? I think it looks horrible.

Does look evil though, so suits NK.

Some of those photos are really interesting. Must be quite depressing growing up there, but I guess if they don't know any different...

That massive building is a hotel that was never finished, and is subsequently shopped out of most official photos of Pyongyang.

It's probably been posted in this thread, but as always cracked.com have a relevant article:

http://www.cracked.com/article_17165_6-reasons-north-korea-funniest-evil-dictatorship-ever.html

Did a study during my MA on North Korea's WMD program and future political developments, and its a truly mad country, essentially the worst parts of 50's Soviet Russia put together.

Hasn't the hotel recently been finished? I mean it's probably never going to even have 2% occupancy, but I'm pretty sure they did finally get it finished.

As far as they are aware the rest of the world is in worse state than them, mass starvation, floods, earthquakes and every other disaster known is happening to the world yet NK seem to be stead fast and livin the dream.

Apparently an Egyptian telecommunications company financed the completion of the exterior as they want to use it as a broadcast tower. The building itself is said to be structurally unsound due to dodgy materials used back in the 80s so I don't think it'll ever be occupied.

Yup, they launched balloons full of news and photos of the outside world from across the DMZ the day KJU's succession was announced.

PS - I HATE YOU!

The U.S.A at the end. Amazing.

I watched a documentary on this country last night. I find anything to do with it incredibly fascinating in a grim way. They did a visit to a hospital and spoke to one of the patients, who was quite obviously an actor. Perfectly made up, looked the picture of health, actually spoke a little of the language that the reporters were fluent in. Interviews with ridiculously indoctrinated people. Incredible music playing children who wear creepy smiles.

I don't think you can easily solve this situation. There would be civil unrest if you took out Kim. It showed footage of his father's funeral, where the crowds were absolutely hysterical. Really disturbing footage.

What was the film, it also intrigues me. I watched one on Netflix called The Propaganda Game and there is one other on Netflix i'm going to watch some time soon.

I remember a documentary a while ago about an eye doctor who went to North Korea and did a few hundred cataract operations in two or three days, pretty much saving the eyesight of every patient. Pretty much none of the patients thanked the doctor, instead they all bowed down to thank a portrait of one of the Kims.
