I can't believe they never came to Dublin on their last world tour in 08/09. They best not ignore us again, although I heard things didn't go well the last time they were here and whipped out the British flag during The Trooper. Crowd started booing. :fp:

Did they expect anything else?   :fp:

I know, I really would have thought they'd have considering leaving it out. Then again have to facepalm the crowd as well, who gives a gooseberry fool about what happened so long ago in the context of a gig? IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RAWK! Image

i think they're gooseberry fool, but then they've obviously tapped into something that gets people going, so fair play to them, even if they are gooseberry fool.

Could a mod make me the topic creator? Been working on an opening post for a while now and Jimmy said it was fine. :D

I would definitely go to Dublin to see Maiden. I've never seen them and they one of the few bands I would like to see, the other being Heaven and Hell. I just hope Dio isn't going to die soon, seeing as he is in hospital.

Seeing Priest and Megadeth this year was the best night of my life. Maiden would probably top that, even if they have (insert crap band) supporting them.

I saw Heaven and Hell briefly at Sonisphere - they aren't allowed to play any of the decent Black Sabbath songs that Ozzy Osbourne did with them so I didn't enjoy them at all. Iron Maiden are amazing live though - when I saw them they were supported by Lauren Harris(surprise surprise), Within Temptation(surprisingly good) and Avenged Sevenfold(shite).

Saw Avenged Sevenfold and Laura Harris in the Somehwere Back In Time Tour. The Highlight of AS' act was when they played the start of Flash of the Blade.

Didn't catch L. Harris' name though, so that did surprise me, at least.

More on topic: I suppose I'm alone in preferring Di'Anno to Dickinson, then? Consequently, my favourite Maiden album is Killers.

Brilliant shout putting Flight of Icarus in the list of Maiden Tracks to start off with - it's one of my favourite Maiden songs but I feel it gets overlooked a bit because of the album it was on and the songs which came before and after it.

I actually just lifted the track list from Edward The Great (2nd edition). Although strangely, in the second edition the live version of Fear Of The Dark is from Dortmund and not the superior Rock in Rio version.

Ah.

Ridiculously, I just found out I have no Maiden on this laptop(despite having everything pre-Blaze Bayley on my iPod). Disgusting. I will rectify this at once.

Have you checked out The Best of The B-Sides compilation? There's some cracking tunes on it, some of them aren't even metal.

The first two albums with Di'Anno are awesome. I think my favourite of the two is the self titled, just for Phantom of the Opera (one of the best metal songs of all time).

Don't really like the Blaze Bayley era but his solo album Silicon Messiah is pretty amazing. 'While you were gone' is a strawberry floating killer song off his last one.

My mate toured with Blaze Bayley earlier this year, I think. Anyway, I have not checked out the B-Sides, I'll need to do that.

Holy strawberry float, a new tour? I'm genuinely considering joining up to the official fan club so I have a better chance of grabbing the early access tickets. Probably still won't be able to get standing ones though.

Did many people here pick up the Flight 666 Bluray? It's absolute bliss.

I thought it was just on DVD, but I'd love to get my hands on some HD Maiden.

No, it was shot with HD in mind so it looks extra lovely.
