I saw Transformers 2 by myself because originally I had organised that my friends and I would all see it, but two days before we planned to see it, I caught swine flu and had to be in quarantine for a week. My friends all went to see it without me (despite me doing all the group texting!) and after the film they all text me saying "Great film, thanks for setting everything up." :x After quarantine finished, I just went to the cinema alone to see it. Felt a bit awkward but once the film starts I didn't really notice the whole forever alone aspect.

I'd be surprised if a midnight showing of a Star Trek film wasn't full of sad lonely strawberry floaters tbh.

When I walk into the cinema with my mates or my girl I always make a concious effort to point and laugh at people on their own.

Trekkies are a passionate bunch. My uncle is mad into it. Although he doesn't dress up

Half the people here don't even play real games and according to them, they're all complete and utter LADS.

Despite the fact you are obviously joking, I can't say I'm much of a gamer. I only own a PS3 and don't buy that many games. Definitely not my number 1 hobby or interest.

It's very rare that I go with others. I see no problem in it, as a regular issue I've found when going with others is that there's a chance the group will decide on a film that you don't wish to see. I don't like it when that happens.

Yes it was just a joke. :shifty:
Seriously though, nothing wrong with it! Over the years, when there has been a film that I've really wanted to watch and no one I knew was available or wanted to see it, I just went. But this would normally be during the day. Eg Shakespeare in Love, at the time no g/f and my friends weren't exactly jumping to come see it with me. Last film I saw like this was Transformers 1, I loved it so much i dragged my girlfriend to a second showing at the IMAX.

I am a bit surprised that there are some non-gamers here. Maybe normal people like to chat gooseberry fool too!

I'm the same. I was desperate to see Ponyo (Studio Ghibli Little Mermaid) and Arrietty, but due to working nights, could never get anyone to come with me. So spent my birthday morning seeing it with only an old lady and her grandaughter for company. Also saw most of the Marvel films alone due to preferring early rather than later showings.

One of the few blessings of knowing film students is that they eat Ghibli up, so there was never a lack of people to see Ponyo (though none went the whole hog and saw it 12 times like I did  ). Went for Arrietty by myself though.

I've been on my own once. Couldn't be arsed going to class so went and saw Centurion.

Felt kind of lame, but I enjoyed it and will probably go on my own again.

Go with Deadpool and myself. We'll all sit up at the back and make out.

I have never have had a clue. It can't be to be attractive, so it must be something to do with peer pressure. Maybe they try to outdo each other with their voices? To be seen as the most popular person or some gooseberry fool.
It’s a good way to keep the suicide rate up I suppose, especially for commuters.

And this is why a threesome is best kept a fantasy.

 Are you speaking from experience?

Seeing as I'm currently sat in a pub on my own, if I was the sort of person to go to the cinema, then yes I would...

Went to see Inception on my own. It was okay, definitely would have been better with someone else.

I should really try and get some friends.
