GamesRadar (okay then, whisper it if it makes you feel any better) have played the game twice now - at E3 & then at Leipzig - once by Radar US, & most recently the UK arm, & both have come away thoroughly disappointed. It's practically a hatchet job.

E3 wrote:Eric Bratcher
Finally, a PS3 game worthy of the "Killzone" name! Just be glad the name isn't "Resistance" or "Gears of War", because then this would totally fall short. It's boring, from the all-gray graphics to the level design (hey, another warehouse!) to the set pieces, which involve such exciting things as blowing up a small bridge or opening a very large door with a hand crank. Yes, it's chaotic like a real war zone, but being a poor man's Call of Duty just isn't going to cut it.

Knee-jerk Score: 6

Leipzig wrote:Beautiful graphics and fairly decent multiplayer level design mean nothing in an FPS which during our hands-on took up to a week to respond to control inputs and masked the action with a layer of post-processed vaseline at every opportunity. Sluggish, terrible to control, and seemingly on a steadfast mission to confuse the player.

Knee-jerk Score: 5

And it's supposed to be nearly finished? Christ Alive.

Yet the other previews elsewhere have pretty much all been positive. We'll just have to wait and see!

Not being funny, but i would not bother what GR have to say, remember Halo 1 was said to be in bad shape at the E3 before its release on the Xbox!

Yeah i was gonna ask, what have the majority of previews had to say about the game? At least the graphics look like living up to the huge hype. For their sake and the huge amount of money spent on the game, i'd like to think it'll turn out substantially better than Haze(You never know thogh)

But how many of these positive previews are being sourced from the single format magazines?

Well wasn't Halo a bit gooseberry fool during it's E3 showing?

If both Resistance and Killzone were multiformat you can bet no one would be nearly as interested.

Tru dat.

It will be one of the best games of next year, one rather poor website says otherwise and they have zero credibility.

I think it'll be shite. Resistance 2 is the PS3 shooter for me.

it riles with us the amount of hype it still generates, with every unveil met with a string of 'zOMG, teh best game EVA' missives from all corners.

Chip on their shoulder, everyone else thinks it looks great and that has annoyed them :?

But it's going to be average at best and the only reason you'll be interested is because it's exclusive. BFBC and COD4 will be far, far superior.

You asked:
Is Killzone 2 going to be 2009’s Haze?

Not really I just enjoyed the original and look forward to the sequel. I really should open my copy of BFBC when my 360 comes back.

Ah, but you picked the "bad cop" opinion. Back over on page 1:

Killzone 2 is, from what we've seen, an impressive entry in the shooter genre. It covers all the basics – intense action, explosive set-pieces and slick presentation – with aplomb and it looks pretty damn sweet. Ultimately, what you'll get out of the game when it's released depends on what you think going into it – if you're hoping for the ultimate first-person shooter, one that revolutionises the genre, then you're likely to be disappointed, at least from the levels we've seen. However, if you want a solid FPS that can stand alongside PlayStation 3 heavyweights such as Resistance and, multiplayer aside, Call of Duty 4, then Killzone 2 ticks all the boxes.

Although FPS-wise I'm also far more interested in Resistance 2 at the moment.

They can't all be GOTY y'know.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Not being funny, but why was this topic even created, its obvious the poster has chose only to post the negative opinions of this game. I have read plenty of positive opinions and we should wait until the game is out until we bash it.

How can people simply say its going to be crap without even playing it, ever since the original game and then the famous trailer have people been waiting to bash this game and i doubt it will live up to the false hype being created.

Killzone 2 looks years ahead of Resistance 2, if anything Resistance needs to be delayed and Killzone released this year.

Maybe, but I never played the original Killzone and (crazy as it may sound to some) I liked the back story to Resistance and look forward to it's continuation.

And special mention should be given to Resistance's online multi-player which is excellent. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the new 60 player squad based MP turns out- although more isn't always better in these cases.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

To open up a debate.

Why do you even post? Yet again, exactly the same point recycled throughout every... single... bloody thread. And it's as retarded as ever.
