Yes, officially. MSN is Microsoft Network, Microsoft's news site that did have the IM Client, Live Messenger is just that but re branded. MSN still exists.

Windows Live Messenger and MSN are heavily integrated into each other, as far as services are concerned. They both use the Passport login which most Microsoft websites use. MSN is, literally, the Microsoft Network, so everything is linked.

I have never used MSN before!

So if someone asks us for our MSN they are asking us for our windows live messenger?
