Yeah, images are spreading now, released by the IDF.

The first images of mass detentions emerged Thursday from the northern town of Beit Lahiya, showing dozens of men kneeling or sitting in the streets, stripped down to their underwear, their hands bound behind their backs. Some had their heads bowed. U.N. monitors said Israeli troops reportedly detained men and boys from the age of 15 in a school-turned-shelter.

...

The London-based news outlet Al-Araby al-Jadeed, or The New Arab, said one of the men seen in the photos of the detainees is its Gaza correspondent Diaa al-Kahlout, and that he was rounded up with other civilians.

Photos in the link. They're in a video montage I can't directly post.

Clearly another violation of the Geneva Convention, this time on the treatment of prisoners.

A number of them have apparently since been released. If they were Hamas, as claimed, there's no way they'd have been let go. So, lies and propaganda, and civilian abduction, on top of the other human rights violations.

No thanks, why would I want them to inbox me? They know who they are.

Clearly missed the point. You're alluding to antisemitism, when if there is antisemitism present on here you should be calling the person out directly rather than being a bitch and just making vague insinuations which presumably allows the person to continue spreading their hate.

Obviously hit a raw nerve with you on this and I find your outburst a bit concerning and odd.

I'll make my own decisions on "calling someone out" thank you.

Rise above hate. Happy Hanukkah to you.

Fair enough. If someone on here was being racist, antisemitic, misogynistic etc., I would hope that I'd call that person out directly to help prevent future outbursts and reassure any of those people on the forum that this is an inclusive space where they're welcome.

Love to have a thread where we just have to guess if someone is accusing others of anti-semetism by the level of sarcasm in their replies.

Israel-Gaza war: Half of Gaza's population is starving, warns UN

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-67670679

A senior UN aid official has warned that half of Gaza's population is starving, as fighting there continues.

Carl Skau, deputy director of the UN World Food Programme, said only a fraction of supplies needed have been able to enter the Strip - and nine out of 10 people cannot eat everyday.

Conditions in Gaza have made deliveries "almost impossible", Mr Skau said.

Israel says it must continue air strikes on Gaza to eliminate Hamas and bring Israeli hostages home.

Israel Defence Forces spokesman Lt Col Richard Hecht told the BBC on Saturday that "any death and pain to a civilian is painful, but we don't have an alternative".

"We are doing everything we can to get as much as possible inside the Gaza Strip," he said.

Movement in and out of Gaza has been heavily restricted since 7 October, when Hamas fighters broke through Israel's heavily-guarded perimeter fence - killing 1,200 people and taking 240 hostages.

In response, Israel closed its borders with Gaza and began launching air strikes on the territory, restricting aid deliveries which Gazans heavily relied on.

The Hamas-run health ministry says Israel has killed more than 17,700 Gazans in its retaliatory campaign, including more than 7,000 children.

Inevitable given the shameful response, have to assume the other two will resign soon enough too.

They were waving a white flag too. What a horrible, miserable end of their lives after what they went through.

The International Court of Justice has said that South Africa has the right to bring the case of genocide to the Court, has refused Israel's request to throw the case out as it does have jurisdiction, and says South Africa's claim that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza is "plausible" (having used public quotes from the Israeli President and Defence Minister).

They've also said there is currently a real risk of irreparable harm to Palestinians in Gaza, ordering Israel to now “take all measures within its its power” to prevent all acts within the scope of the genocide convention, while also calling for the immediate unconditional release of all hostages in Gaza.

Very important to say this doesn't prove a case, the ICJ haven't concluded anything except that there's a plausible case for the Israeli government to answer. It's going to be ongoing for years.

It does however suggest those who considered it absolutely abhorrent or inflammatory to question whether the Israeli government and army could be committing genocide in Gaza ought to question their own judgement generally. It would also raise the very real question of whether Israel's allies like the US and UK might be complicit in a plausible genocide and whether that's something we ought to try to do something about.

At least half of Gaza's buildings damaged or destroyed, new analysis shows

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-68006607

More than half of Gaza's buildings have been damaged or destroyed since Israel launched its retaliation for the Hamas attacks of 7 October, new analysis seen by the BBC reveals.

Detailed before-and-after imagery also shows how the bombardment of southern and central Gaza has intensified since the start of December, with the city of Khan Younis bearing much of the brunt of Israel's military action.

Israel has repeatedly told Gazans to move south for their own safety.

Across Gaza, residential areas have been left ruined, previously busy shopping streets reduced to rubble, universities destroyed and farmlands churned up, with tent cities springing up on the southern border to house many thousands of people left homeless.

About 1.7 million people - more than 80% of Gaza's population - are displaced, with nearly half crammed in the far southern end of the strip, according to the United Nations.

Further analysis, by BBC Verify, reveals the scale of destruction of farmland, identifying multiple areas of extensive damage.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has said it is targeting both Hamas fighters and "terror infrastructure", when challenged over the scale of damage.

It’s just numb now.

Daily atrocities and war crimes.
Israeli ministers saying the quiet part as loud as possible in any communications. They don’t even hide their ethnic cleaning ambitions.
The support from western government never waivers.

The last few months will forever be a stain on humanity
