Oh goodness! Phyllis has fallen at the same fence as Loopy Luigi!! The horse that just woulnd't fall has finally gone when it really matters! This really IS a two horse race now! Door To Door Salesman is a really distant third!

Two fences to go - both these horses ooze class....but who will get the better - jumping the penultimate fence...

Both jump in fantastically, but Chardoneigh better - they are neck and neck into the finalo fence....this is the title decider....

BOTH OVER! Chardoneigh stumbles slightly - Jajinsky is away! He opens up a slight lead - the dashing white of Chardoneigh as he tries to catch Jajinsky down this final straight...

Door To Door now out of the bend, still running well - but its all far too late - Chardoneigh cataching Jajsinky - who will win IOLHK? This is amazing stuff from both horses a true classic - Jajinsky leads....still leads....Chardoneigh catching.,...catching 2 furlongs....FINAL FURLONG....this is it!

The winner of IOLHK! Horse of the Year 2011 is...

JAJINSKY! The English stable go mad! The English jockey fist pumps and looks to the sky in disbelief - not only has the large female Jajinsky won the individual title - it secures the first ever victory in IOLHK! history for the English!! Chardoneigh - a fantastic little horse a absolutely valiant starry second, itrs not enough to take France into second, Loopy Luigi getting just far enough around the track to secure second for Japan - but this day is for the star of 'Its On Like Horsey Kong' - Jajinsky!! What a final!

1stImageJAJINSKY (ENG) - Mommy 4/6F
2ndImageCHARDONEIGH (FRA) - Skippy 2/1
3rdImageDOOR TO DOOR SALESMAN (USA) - Oh Teh Noes 33/1

4th Loopy Luigi, 5th Phyllis, 6th Bananas On The Bridge

JAJINSKY IS HORSE OF THE YEAR!
ENGLAND WIN THE IOLDK TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!

All I can say is thank god thats over!

Simulating 27 races has been arduous, but I have enjoyed the mythology if you will that has been created - and the backstories behind many of the horses. We shall not easily forget that early excellent run of Goof Troop, the uselessness of Phyllis and Spider Baby, the growth of Lasty and the pure white brilliance of Chadoneigh, the powerhouse of Jajinsky and the constant high profile failings of Garlicky Aftertaste.

Thank you to all of you who have made the game fun to run, you could have lost interest throughout the games admittedly elongated run, but you stuck with me to the end and put faith in me that I was creating a realistic, reliable and fair system to simulate races which I hope you feel I delivered.

Special thanks to Ropes who has put so much effort into the bookie side of the game, which really added a huge dimension to the game which I am hugely grateful for - so thank you Ropes! I'm sure he will announce his winner in due course.

So thanks once again for giving this game a shot.

Just for the record I believe IOLHK! > IOLDK!

Ciao and Miaow!

I blame your poorly worded rules. I'd like to also note that my choices helped Japan take second place.

My glorious training took Lasty and made him into horse even true samurai may use. Only after racing shall Lasty show his true strength on the battlefield.

You're glue, Bananas on the Bridge. :shifty:

Thnx for running the game Dimil. It's been alright. Kudos to Ropes too for the bookies side of things.

I think I had something to do with that as well. :|

Shame I didn't make the wildcard stage, Lasty would have kicked some equine arse. DML, how close were the votes for the wildcard entry?

Also, great game, cheers for running it! :D

And the English pull through! Fantastic race and what a run from Jajinsky. Well done, team.

I await the final result of the bookmaker’s competition for an English sweep.

Cheers for running this, DML.

Drummy's race selection helped me a lot. Winning the first race was a good platform for an already strong horse.
My only real area of weakness was the start so all 3 points went on that after the semi. It worked well.

Great game DML. Gutted the US couldn't win the final with a Door 2 Door victory.

As for some constructive critisism, here is mine:
Whilst I enjoyed an early confidence boost with Goof Troop and my wins, I was totally engrossed. But as soon as I started losing confidence the game felt completely out of control. What I would like to see is a combining of the betting with the horse racing, even if it would mean having two people run the game. I'd see it as each stable has £10'000 (for example) in their pot to begin with, then they can buy training for their horses with their money on top of the normal stat boost/loss of the races, but the money is stable-wide. So winnings can be gambled (No £20 limit) for possible further stat boosts in the future, or simply spent for stats. The main caveat being that in order to win the Team Championship, you need to have the biggest cash pot at the end of the game (winnings per horse would decide Dubai).

I think that would be the ultimate form for this game but I realise it would add more work for the organisers.
