Smothered mine in Ginger preserve :datass:

Then we're having more pancakes for dinner, with bacon and fried eggs :datass:

And that's us done until next year when we're allowed to have pancakes again

Urgh, I hate ginger. It just doesn't seem to know when to stop.

It's OK, you're allowed to have yours yesterday instead.

Haha, Lewis is the one who used a capital G. Which makes me wonder what he actually ate.

Or at any point on any day of the year because you're an adult and you don't have to eat something on a specific day because an advert told you to :capnscotty:

I had a full Christmas dinner last month and it was glorious :datass:

Surely that's just a big roast dinner?

Not if you eat it while wearing a paper crown.

Another Pancake day thread dragged mercilessly off topic.

and eat it alone! :? :|

my Christmas dinner last year was actually cheese and crackers. I could have had something more substantial, but I was too boxed to care.

Don't cry for me - I'm already dead.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I have some cherry curd in the cupboard (possibly the most middle class thing I have ever said). That sounds like it could be quite nice on a pancake right?

I miss the Jubilee Pancakes you could order at Little Chef. They were a real treat.

Gonna have savoury crepes/thin UK style pancakes for dinner and sweet ones for dessert. Lemon juice and sugar for me!

It's Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras as well and Chicago has a huge Polish population to we are getting the traditional Polish sweet, Patchkis (sp? Plz help Rocsteady) which as I understand it are basically the UK style jam Donut which I am more than happy to add to the pancake day tradition each year!

Yes they eat jam donuts* in Germany too - we would get trays of them delivered to work.

A few of them have mustard instead of jam as a bit of a joke.

*Which are actually called 'Pfannkuchen' ('pan cakes') whereas pancakes are called 'Eierkuchen' ('egg cakes'), unless you're in the West in which case 'Pfannkuchen' are 'Berliners' and pancakes are called 'Pfannkuchen', however many east Germans also will also call 'Pfannkuchen' (jam donuts) 'Berliners'.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.
