PostITV2 to launch 'The Exclusives'. Prize? Working for Bauer...

It's one of the best jobs in the world, and you could be doing it for real actual money. If writing for a living is something that gets you excited, read on...

We'll let you in on a little secret – some days, we love our jobs. Sure, there's a lot of hard work involved as deadlines loom, and you've got to be fresh, smart, up-to-date and, well, good at writing. But this morning, for example, we went off to a London gym and trained in sword fighting techniques. For a living. It's a pretty sweet gig.

So if you're interested in writing for a magazine, you reckon you've got what it takes to chase down a fantastic story, and you're keen to fight off all comers in a Gladiator-style contest, listen up. ITV2 have paired up with Bauer Media – those are the guys who publish FHM, along with Kerrang!, Empire, ZOO, and a bunch of other nifty mags – to make that very contest happen. It's called The Exclusives, and the winner stands to earn a 12-month contract with Bauer.

Step one is sending an email to apply@twofour.co.uk. Once you've done that, you'll get an application form sent to you – fill it out, and return it. If you're going to write for FHM or one of our sister mags, experience isn't required but buckets of raw talent definitely are. Probably two or three buckets of raw talent, just to be sure.

You'll also need to be gutsy, fearless, badass, and over the age of 18. Being devilishly handsome is also a benefit, but just because we all are don't think you have to be.

If ITV2 like you – and why wouldn't they, you're lovely – then they'll get in touch, and you might make it on to the show. You and five others will fight it out tooth and nail to show just how bloody good at journalism they are, and the person who does the best wins the 12-month contract. Simple!

That's about it, really. We're pretty cool guys. If you'd like to come see what it's like behind the curtain, get cracking on that form. And try to spell everything correctly, eh? That's a tip for free.

An interesting concept, that's no doubt going to result in various Apprentice style challenges, none of which will have any bearing on writing ability. Not that you need much to write for ZOO ('Wahey! Pinder! Bet she wouldn't have needed a life jacket on the Costa Concordia. Know I mean, lads? Wahey!').

There's a joke about ZOO not surviving another 12 months, but anyway. Bring on another reality TV show we can all have a jolly good laugh at.

I've always preferred Total Film to Empire...think I might be the exception there, though.

I'd love to be a writer for Empire or FHM. Like Dual though, I doubt I'm crazy enough to make it on a TV show.
