So today I went in to Game and looked at the Xbox 360 bundles, as I won't be playing online (in the near future) I plumped for an Arcade with GTA4 for the princely sum of £169.99.

Now i've got lots of catching up to do with the backlog of 360 games, anyone care to tell me what to get? I'm in to all sorts of games, RPG, Sport, FPS, Adventure, Sim etc...

Also has anyone else been in the same league of slowness as me?

Wii only here. I can't be arsed to get a 360 or PS3 as the games just don't interest me. Just play my brothers PS3 or mates 360 if I want to try a new game out.

There are a load of games you should get for the 360.

Call of Duty 4
Crackdown
Oblivion
Rock Band/Guitar Hero
PGR3/4
Symphony of The Night
Bioshock
Gears of War

And many, many more.

*puts hand up*

Although I've had my 360 for a while now (I bought a Core - so what did I know?), I only ever find out what's going on, which are the 'hot' games, what's out on XBLA, from this place. So I'm always about two weeks behind everyone else and most people on GRcade (i.e. the same ones from GR) think my taste in videogames is... well, let's just say they think it leaves a lot to be desired.

As for games - I'm sure the membership here all have their own ideas about which games you MUST own, but it helps to know which genres of game you enjoy, so start with something in one of those.

I'm worse than you, but I'm still looking around for bundles.

I'll be getting Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Crackdown at first.

Eternal Sonata looked a bargain at £14.99 in Game Preowned, I was going to get it but decided to read some reviews first.

Is PGR4 the definitive driving game?

The new machine is nice. Just replaced mine with a 60 (sold the other) and am impressed with how much quieter it is and pleased to see the lighter lower powered PSU. Less power = less heat , which can only be a good thing for stability.

Gears of War is a must, if you don't like the control scheme at first just stick with it.

Still my favourite game on 360 this generation.

Hope you plan to connect to Xbox Live for the XBLA stuff. But that 256MB memory unit is soon going to be quite inadequate.

I know it's been mentioned a few times already, but I can't recommend Mass Effect enough.

To anyone buying, there is a bundle I saw at Game today for £209.99 with a 60GB 360 and either GTA4, Battlefield bad Company, Top Spin 3 or Beijing 2008.

If you like RPGs, go for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. It's a bit old, but it's very good.

Crackdown definatly, Mass Effect is awsome once you get right into it. I'm a huge fan of FEAR which gave me the willies playing it. The Bourne Conspiracy is also a damn good game. Oh and Fight Night Round 3 if you like your boxing.
